Conducted an analysis of the track message loading incurred by the Short Range Air Defense Command and Control (SHORAD C2) architecture using a Single Channel Ground to Air Radio Service (SINCGARS). Conducted a study to access whether SINCGARS could be used to support the command and control requirements in the rear division for the SHORAD community of subscribers; conducted an analysis of a study to assess the functional contribution of radar and C2 to SHORAD effectiveness; help develop a VMS/COBOL based Security Application for NAVSEA.
Program Management: LANs and Protocols: Provided technical and program management support to the Army World-Wide Military Command and Control (WWMCC) Information System (AWIS) Program Management Office (PMO). Defined site configurations and provided transition management support. Defined and managed a complete performance evaluation of a proposed communication and protocol architecture for the WIS LAN.
Mathematical Modeling and Simulation: Worked on a force comparison model (FORCECOM) for the Central Army Group (CENTAG). Developed a prototype extension of this model, Statistical Comparison Model (STATCOM), which is used in conjunction with FORCECOM for sensitivity analysis. Developed a neural network to detect and classify Soviet AS and SS targets. The model used a Backpropagation paradigm with 256 processing elements. Work was done on an IBM AT in C; also developed a forecasting model using linear programming methodologies for projecting enemy positions and troop strength.
