Software Engineering Manager 2007-2011
As Software Engineering Manager, collaborated with Supply Chain, Risk Management, Process Improvement, Quality and Engineering to consistently deliver X-Band Radar (XBR) software contracts on time and under budget. Analyzed and responded to new requirements from government customers, led customer briefings on proposed solutions to program software requirements, defined project scope, as well as provided detailed analysis of costs.
Created Software Engineering schedules in Microsoft Project and integrated schedules into overall Program Master Schedule, as well as controlled and managed the XBR Software Engineering Budget. Provided corrections to Budget as requirements changed or were further refined. Reanalyzed and updated manpower planning.
• Utilized effective management techniques to guide Software Engineering teams of as
many as 40 Engineers to meet extremely tight Project Schedules, increasing
productivities 15%.
• Led Engineering Integrated Baseline Review, received high praise from customer for
consistent excellence in management of Software Program and subsequently meeting
cost, schedule and technical performance goals.
• Refinement of XBR software processes contributed to the receipt by Raytheon’s IDS
Engineering of the Software Engineering Institute’s highest possible rating for
processes, CMMI Maturity Level 5.
Deputy Software Task Manager 2004-2007
Directed the efforts of eight Software Team Leads, collaborated with Software Engineering Manager to ensure on-time development, testing and delivery of X-Band Radar Software. Utilized weekly tracking of Team progress to manage analysis of cost or schedule variances, and implementation of measures to obviate potential long term issues.
Engaged in comprehensive review of current and scheduled Projects, ascertaining impact of diverse factors on overall Project cost, deliverability, and Human Capital requirements. Identified potential or actual Software Engineering risks and worked with the Program Risk Review Board to resolve or mitigate identified risks to acceptable levels.
• As a result of outstanding performance, received an “Excellence in Software
Engineering Management Award” jointly from the XBR Program Office and the United
States Army.
• Mentored Software Team Leads in more effectively managing both project schedules
and costs, resulting in an increase in productivity of 15%. Traveled to
Huntsville, Alabama to mentor software team lead at that site.

Led the X-Band Radar (XBR) Software Development Team, achieved productivity and cost improvements, created software development schedule and worked with team leads daily, ensuring entire software team stayed on schedule.
