Maintenance of cost accounting standards, cost analysis by product and business area, production order costing, cost reporting, month end close, inventory and labor analysis. Family owned company involved in the manufacture of cast zinc refrigeration hardware, food service equipment, truck body hardware, and industrial grease filters. Customers were world wide, with sales offices across the United States and International locations.
Maintained the cost accounting functions of product costing, labor reporting, inventory valuation, operational budgets, and fixed asset records. Month end close reporting for labor and inventory valuation. Controlled outside sub-contractor inventory, which amounted to $1 Million Dollars. Accounts Payable Supervisor, Variance Analysis reporting. Responsible for Bill of Material and Routing Maintenance.
• Installed bar coded labor reporting, which resulted in the elimination of 2 data entry clerks. Savings of $40,000/year.
• Internal audit procedures, along with MRP, resulted in not having to take a yearly physical inventory. We maintained a 95% inventory accuracy.
• Put controls in place to accurately track inventory located at Sub Contractors, which minimized our inventory write-offs each month.
