Objective

Seeking a challenging position as a Structural/Stress/FEM/FEA engineer.

Experience

Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Everett Washington-Structural Analysis Engineer (Contract) Since May'2008

Working as a system/Cargo stress engineer, analyzing the design for design validation and stress signed off, by classical hand calculations and computerized analysis tools. Working with liaison and resolving the stress issues for part manufacturing and installation. Using Boeing stress methodology , Roark's, Niu and Bruhn.

Analyzed 747-8F environmental control system's barrier under bulk cargo loads, defined the load path and free body diagrams. Performed detail stress analysis to determine the part sizing.

Performed classical analysis on STA1920 cheek panel supports and STA2100 end wall for structural sizing. Analysis includes, lugs and pin ultimate strength, bending and compression crippling, fasteners strength, etc.

Performed stress analysis on 747-8I electrical standoffs under vibration loads, analyzed the standoffs' critical sections, compute the natural frequency and fastener's axial and shear strength and bearing checks.

Analyzed 767-400ER pallet stop lock's for lug ultimate strength and critical area strength checks.

Evaluate the lower lobe shear panels under floor panel's edge loading for flat plate and inter rivets buckling.

Analyzed 777-200F main deck and and lower lobe composite and honeycomb furnishing panels, compute the panels' in plane and bending loads, panel's shear tear out and supports structure strength.

Performed FEM analysis on different support structures, used Nastran/Patran/Optistruct as FEM tools.

Analyzed cargo and cargo safety nets' straps strength and net's tie downs fittings under net's loading.

Preparing the strength checks notes for stress signed off and archive.

Spirit Aerosystem, Wichita Kansas- Stress/FEM engineer(Contract) March' 2006 to March'2008

Performed FEM/FEA modeling and analysis of Rigid Cargo Barrier (RCB) for Boeing-777F for design validation and design improvement.

Performed FEM analysis to evaluate the interface loads at RCB floor and crown attachments, minimize the number of attachment, generate even load distribution and crown tie rods size optimization.

Performed FEM recommendations and fixes to reduce the RCB high stresses and displacements by structure stiffness improvement , used MSC/Nastran, Patran and Hyper Works as a FEM tool.

Analyzed the stress contour plots and performed RCB weight optimization by gage reduction.

Performed hand calculations to correlate the FEM results for RCB displacement and interface loads.

Performed nonlinear static analysis for large displacement and material non linearity.

Performed the modal analysis to determine the RCB fundamental frequencies.

Performed topology and size optimization on Boeing-787 commercial airplane's jack pads and landing gear drag braces with the objective function to reduce the weight, used Altair/Optistruct as a FEM tool.

Ford Motor Company, Dearborn Michigan-Project Engineer (Contract) April' 1998 to February 2006

Performed full vehicle frequency response/dynamic analysis for different road surfaces to investigate the vehicle sensitivities, that includes body shake, seat track, steering column and roof headers vibrations and interior sound pressure level.

Performed the durability analysis in order to reduce the acceleration responses at engine mounts, suspension and exhaust interface locations and improved the isolation between bushing and mounts.

Performed the DSA and design optimization analysis to optimize the weight for the transmission and engine mounts' brackets.

Performed Structural Adhesive Bonding to improve the global bending and torsion static stiffness at down gage and reduced weight BIW, in efforts to improve fuel efficiency and high mileage stiffness.

Worked on mid size sedan to eliminate the front sub frame for cost and weight saving. Install engine on BIW, generate FEM models for body side mount brackets. Performed durability analysis for design improvement and design validation and correlate FEM results with test results.

Generate interior acoustic cavity and acoustic to structure coupling use Akusmod as a tool.

Performed drive evaluation for vehicle subjective rating for different NVH attributes

Bquad Engineering, Flint Michigan-Project Engineer October 1996 to April 1998

FEA modeling and analysis of Steering Column for mid size sedan.

Performed durability CAE analysis for different automotive components.

Designed hydraulic pressure tubing and fittings for power steering system.

Involved in designing the test rig for steering system’s hydraulic pump used AutoCAD as a design tool.

CSI, Troy Michigan-Manufacturing Simulation Analyst October 1995 to October 1996

Generate robotics simulations for body structure's welding in order to optimize cycle time and cost to achieved the lean manufacturing targets.

Designed the welding cells, which were more ergonomics and work friendly.

Designed and modeled the welding fixture, grippers and tooling in vehicle coordinates system and generate their kinematics, used Robcad as a design tool.

Coordinates input from internal and external customers to better understand customer needs and perceptions.

Machine Tool Factory, Karachi, Pakistan-Manufacturing Engineer September 1986 to July 1995

Worked as manufacturing engineer in multi area of process engineering such as machine tool, pressure die casting, forging, foundry, pressed metal and heat treatment.

Worked with the team to produced process flow charts and operational instructions for transmission components, which includes gears, transmission shafts and housing for lean manufacturing activities.

Responsible to generate the cutting tool's patch for CNC machines for automotive transmissions components to achieve rapid and lean manufacturing targets.

Analyzed the brake system parts for best method of manufacturing process, support production activities for continuous improvement.

Worked closely with quality control team in order to resolve the product quality issues.
