American Adoptions: Communications Specialist, 2006 – 2007
Responsible for all stages and facets of the mass communication process for the largest domestic adoption agency in the United States, from content creation and editing to Web design conceptualization and all development and branding strategies. Content includes persuasive pieces for families pursuing adoption, pregnant women considering adoption and platform pieces disseminated to the media in an effort to contemporize the archaic understanding and portrayal of adoption in the mass media. Other articles include profile pieces, features, informative articles in the vein of proper prenatal care, blog and weekly newsletter content and all writing and editing for Options Magazine, a subscription-based quarterly about adoption.

Conducted, reviewed and reported on qualitative and quantitative research relevant to methods of district-wide improvement and development. Researched grants. Spearheaded consultant searches. Wrote, edited and assisted in the dissemination of reports on worldwide trends in the realm of education to key constituents. Worked closely with the deputy superintendent to make board recommendations on district improvement based on best practices research.
Imagine Schools: Marketing Specialist, Grant Writer, College Prep Educator, 2003 – 2005
Developed and enacted campaigns both to promote enrollment as well as retain current enrollees through promotional campaigns aimed at the young, urban adult demographic. Responsibilities included but were not limited to writing and publishing all editorial pieces for citywide distribution as well as within the school community, facilitated every facet of all marketing events and campaigns pertinent to promoting the image of Southwest Charter School, and served as community and media liaison as well as school spokeswoman.
