EXPERIENCE
2010-Present- West Texas Medical Associates, Human Resource Director. Oversee all human resource aspects including employment administration, recruitment and orientation of all new hire employees. Facilitate all employee relations, and supervisor development. Appointed as Safety Officer, overseeing the Safety Committee and the safety of the all employees and patients. Member of SHRM, and San Angelo Chamber of Commerce.
2008-2010- The News Group Human Resource Manager, Division Training/ Development Manager. Oversaw all human resource aspects which include recruiting and hiring. Oversee all Human Resource functions for 15 depots in 5 states, and one distribution center, with a combination of 600 personnel. Input all new employees into Payroll and HRIS systems. Report Workers Compensation claims. Enroll new employees into company medical, dental, and life Insurance policies. Track FMLA and sick leave, communicating it to employees. Run and submit payroll through ADP for 17 locations. Handle all Unemployment Claims in 5 states. Create and facilitate training classes. Promoted to Training Director and expanded training department to include 3 training specialists. Created training programs for hourly team members, which is utilized division wide to ensure standardization of customer service and operations. Trained other Human Resource managers on Worker’s Compensation and Automobile Liability claim reporting processes. Created spreadsheets and communicated reporting of all claims in order to achieve goals and reduce cost.
2006 – 2008 – The Kroger Company, Distribution Center Human Resources Recruiter and Assistant HR Administrator. Facilitated and monitored the Mentoring Program for all new distribution supervisors, rewrote and facilitated the New Hire Orientation Program which included all HR policies and procedures, became a member of the Delaware County Planning Committee (Workforce Advisory Board), assisted with the hiring of over 1200 new associates, facilitated job fairs at Family Jobs and Services in five counties, expanded advertising methods to increase application flow, facilitated Achieve Global classes (Management classes) for all supervisors at the distribution center, ensure all operations including hiring, and documentation are in compliance with federal employment law.
2003-2006 – The Kroger Company, Human Resources Coordinator July 2005 to June 2006. Store Management from June 2004 to June 2005. Created, facilitated and implemented the Mentoring Program for the Great Lakes Division which was integrated into the Mentoring Program for The Kroger Company Enterprise-wide. Ensured District (26 retail stores) was in compliance 100% with all training requirements such as company and federal policies, the Mentoring Program, Leadership Training, Achieve Global classes- “Principles and Qualities of Genuine Leadership” and “Conducting Performance Reviews”, and the New Hire Pre-Boarding and On-Boarding Classes, Green Leadership/ Communication and Presentation meeting, Facilitated the class “Interviewing Skills” to all manager trainees in the Great Lakes Division, Settled the majority of grievances at the Step 2 level. Conducted exit interviews, specifically with non-exempt employees, Helped with the training of a new HR coordinator in District H, with all the aspects of the HR job functions. Coordinated training for all Front End office staff in Check fraud, expanded the depth of the Successor Planning Committee, completed Labor Audits ensuring that our district was in 100% compliance. Trained department heads and store management qualifying them as a training store for the Store Management Trainees Program.
1999- 2003 - Safeway, Tucson, Arizona. First Assistant Manager. Planned and prepared work schedules; coordinated promotion activities and prepared or directed preparation of promotional displays; supervised employees in sales work, taking of inventories, and reconciliation of cash. Ensured compliance with established retail policies and procedures, security, sales and record keeping procedures and practice. Answered customer's complaints and inquiries. Interviewed, hired, trained and terminated employees as required. Performed employee evaluations, corrective action plans and various other administrative duties. Appointed Safety Coordinator for entire district, performed safety inspections and coordinated corrective action plans with store management resulting in the district placing first in worker's compensation claims as well as personal liability claims for the Phoenix Division. Included in these plans were correct reporting on OSHA Log 300.
