Duties as Laborer: Check string line elevation for mainline paving crew, use GPS or other means of conventional surveying to check elevations on sub and finish grade. Duties as Portable Concrete Batch Plant Assistant: Ensure concrete plant was operating properly, make any repairs as necessary to keep production going. Make sure plant had product (cement and fly ash) to keep making concrete. Pump cement and fly ash out of tankers into the batch plant silo by means of compressed air. Maintain all compressors and flow lines to ensure that cement and fly ash would distribute properly. Make sure large portable generator running plant was serviced and maintained, repair as necessary to keep production in process. Clean and maintain site and plant for E.P.A regulations. Operate Batch Plant during batching process so operator could have a break due to long hours of operation. Grease and lubricate all components to batch plant to ensure proper function on a daily basis. Portable Concrete Plants assisted on: Rex single drum, Erie Stayer double drum.
