Summary
Experienced in management of manufacturing, production, maintenance, warehouse and quality control. My history of innovations to processes, methods and machinery in the foods, beverage and plastic injection molding industries have left an unbroken trail of improved quality, efficiency and productivity.
Present- February 2009 Conagra Foods
Process Development and Continuous Skills Development Coach
In this capacity I analyzed, designed, developed, implemented, evaluated, and improved the learning processes, aligning learning and development strategies and systems with workforce development and performance needs. I partnered with management to effectively create, maintain and train formal learning processes that added value to team member capabilities. In my short tenure as a contractor for Conagra Foods I:
· Lead kaizen and FI teams that dramatically increased line efficiencies.
· I developed SOP’s, created line safety maps, JHA’s, and JSA’s, partnered with R&D to develop and write new processes.
· Created employee process logs for recording quality and production checks to assure compliance to SQF mandates and increase tracking capabilities for SAP.
January 2009 July 1997 Quaker Oats, Gatorade Division, Indianapolis IN
Manufacturing Analysis Site Deployment Leader , Resource Site Supervisor (Leader of shift Supervision), Data Acquisition Site Leader, Lighthammer Administrator, Diversity Inclusion Trainer, SAP Super User, SAP Trainer, Mercury Quality Center SAP Tester, SAP Use Case Developer, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) leader.
As the Indy MSDL I successfully lead the Indy plant in the training and deployment of the plant manufacturing analysis reporting system.
As a Lighthammer Adm. I successfully lead the deployment and maintained the plant downtime data collecting systems.
As a SAP Super User I supported the successful roll-out of their multi-system SAP landscape and assisted in the go live of this material tracking system at not only the Indy plant location but at five other plant locations across the United States. I also developed system enhancements and tested them in the Quality Mercury Center.
I was the first, and am the only, employee to receive an excellent annual performance rating at the Indy plant.
As a Resource Supervisor I was responsible for operations of the Gatorade beverage plant on second shift. Being responsible for operation of production lines, shipping, receiving, quality, and maintenance on second shift my shift consistently lead the plant in quality, safety and productivity. I was one of the first employees to achieve RCA Site recognition at Pepsico for my many achievements, only one of seven employees in the organization to do so the first year.
I’ve conceived, researched and lead numerous improvement projects impacting quality, production and packaging in the beverage industry such as:
· CMP project to consolidate and automate the concentrate line, doubled productivity while also substantially reducing labor cost. A 1.5 million dollar annual savings.
· CMP project to change the BIB pallet stack quantity and configuration, an annual savings of 650 K.
· CMP project to install chillers on the production line coolers substantially increasing line speeds.
· CMP project to install automatic placard applicators on production lines, decreasing labor cost and increasing line efficiencies and tracking accuracy.
· CMP project to install a product line air purge system in Concentrate, a 500K annual savings.
· Developed the Indy “Daily Production Report”, which is the plant tool tracking all line production and efficiencies.
· Computerized the overtime tracking process for Indy, dramatically expediting he coverage process and reducing coverage errors.
· Wrote the SOP’s and operator qualification tests for all fourteen pieces of line equipment in Concentrate as well as numerous other line function SOP’s.
· Developed the operator cross training cores for all production positions and determined the duration of qualification times.
July, 1997- July, 1991 Thomson Consumer Electronics, Indianapolis, IN
Superintendent of Plastic Molding 1991- July, 1997
Directed operations of large ISO 9000 certified plastic injection molding facility, (sixty-seven presses ranging from 50 ton to 2,500 ton). Responsible for two Engineers and nine supervisors of over 175 union employees in the continuous shift production of television cabinets, components and auxiliary parts.
· Developed and implemented methods and machinery resulting in annual plastic material savings of over $1,000,000 by conceiving of and implementing a material regrind tank farm system.
· Lead a union Quality Leadership Program which conceived of and implemented the invention of an inter-locking modular pallet to allow molding of our own pallets with regrind materials. A patent was registered for the design.
· As Superintendent of injection molding lead its ISO certification process.
· Conceived of and implemented a finishing flash removal system substantially reducing labor and improving quality.
* Improved quality and productivity by:
- Sponsorship and participation in Quality Leadership program.
- Membership in Statistical Process Control group.
- ISO Certification of department
· Received award recognition for instigation of and contributions to nitrogen assisted molding technology.
· Developed molding cycle card menus for mold technicians.
· Programmed robots and developed SOP’s for their programming.
· Introduced material weigh scale metering devices to increase regrind usages.
