Employed as Radio op on a production platform off Den Helder and doubling as standby Medic if required in an emergency due

to the small size of the crew onboard

Heerema SSCV Hermod

Employed as Radio Officer onboard the worlds second largest crane vessel undertaking all normal radio officer duties for a crew of 400 whilst undertaking its platform decommissioning projects in Norway, dealing with a large daily amount of crew changes and normal duties such as the responsibility for the maintenance and operation of a full GMDSS installation consisting of MF,HF and VHF radio and DSC units, IMMARSAT A,C and KU Band satellite systems, the organization of helicopter and personnel logistics, compilation of POB / Lifeboat lists and Hotel plans and computer based administration.

Military Service

Enlisted in 1984 into the regular army. After completing the basic syllabus I trained in all aspects of military radio operations

including location, selection and control of remote broadcasting stations, maintenance and servicing of equipment. Employed in a

signal position mostly in a self supervisory role in both British and French airborne units in the United Kingdom and abroad. Active

operational experience gained during service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Rwanda among others.
