Summary and Objective:

Experience in mechanical design spanning the fields of system performance and optimization, alternative energy/fuel systems, manufacturing and metal forming operations, finite element analysis FEA/FEM, and CAD solid modeling. Solid track record of extremely satisfied supervisors and students, reputation for leadership capabilities, proven independent work, affinity for training and mentorship, excellent technical expertise, and accustomed to working in highly dynamic and demanding environments.

Education and Training:

Ph.D. Candidate, Mechanical Engineering, (Ohio University, USA) 2009. GPA: 3.5/4.0

M.S., Mechanical Engineering, (Ohio University, USA) 2002. GPA: 3.5/4.0

B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Cum Laude, (Ohio University, USA) 1999. GPA: 3.6/4.0

A.E., Fuel Cells, Alternative Energy systems and Bio Fuels (Hocking College, USA).

Research and Teaching Experience:

‘10–present Adjunct Engineering Professor: Taught and Developed Alternative energy and fuels systems, CAD, metals and corrosion, and fuel cells courses (Hocking College, Ohio, USA).

2010 – 2011 Technical Lead Engineer/Manager on-site for Hocking College - Delphi Automotive Systems Solid oxide fuel cell stationary power generation project employing high-efficiency electrochemical generators designed to provide environmentally friendly electrical power for a wide range of transportation and stationary applications. Proposed to be sponsored by the Ohio Third Frontier Fuel Cell program to operate and analyze two 5kW natural gas powered SOFC energy systems at Hocking College with respect to reduced CO2 emissions, verified energy savings and efficiency improvements in residential, commercial, industrial, and public buildings. The project demonstrates the market-readiness of a technology through a commercially-oriented project that maximizes incorporation of Ohio produced components.

2008–2009 Principle Project Researcher/Coordinator for Ohio University - Daimler Chrysler: Developing lightweight hydrogen fuel tanks onboard hybrid automobiles with PEM fuel cell systems, to replace conventional hydrogen fuel storage vessels used onboard passenger vehicles with more conformable tanks. This was accomplished by examining the packing microstructural patterns in polymer foams using micro-electronic scoping, design of experiment criteria and FEA and CAD techniques to produce foam structures capable of replacing conventional hydrogen storage vessels onboard passenger vehicles. Research sponsored by Daimler-Chrysler, Inergy Automotive, and the USA Department of Energy (Ohio University, USA).

2007–2008 Graduate Researcher at Ohio University: Modeling the Human Knee, using FEA analysis, real MRI and CT hospital records scans to investigate the effect of menisci sizing on improving meniscus allograft surgeries for patients with osteoarthritis (Ohio University, USA).

2003–2007 Mechanical Engineering Instructor and Graduate Teaching Assistant of mechanical engineering and computer programming (Ohio University, USA).

2002–2003 Graduate Researcher for Ohio University - American Axle: Analyzing Forging Dies Wear and Fatigue, to better understand the wear and failure factors governing wear and fatigue of steel die sets. Project sponsored by American Axle (Michigan, USA).

2001–2002 Graduate Researcher for Ohio University – Queen City Forge: Optimizing Open Die Forging Operations, to cut manufacturing time, labor, and cost by converting a five-step open die forge process into a three-step open die forge, or into a two-step closed die forge. This was accomplished by using FEA computer simulations. Research sponsored by Queen City Forging (Ohio, USA).
