Capacity Planning Supervisor-Marketing and Sales Operations 2007-2009

Established weekly demand for each part in the vehicle Bill-of-Material based on marketing forecasted take rates as well as assembly plant operating pattern. Responsible for supply base follow up to ensure manufacturing capacity was in place to meet weekly demand for all parts. Championed follow up on all potential capacity shortages and resolved prior to vehicle launch.

• Achieved zero demand vs. capacity shortages with the supply base for the Mustang, Crown Victoria / Grand Marquis / Town Car, and Escape / Mariner / Mazda Tribute vehicle lines.

o Followed up with supply base ensuring all requirements for lead time and additional tooling were met in advance of Job-1 to prevent constraints at vehicle launch.

• Developed a high level report of the supply base capacities for all North American Assembly Plants.

o Report was compared with the monthly Sales Production Program to anticipate possible production shortages and proactively corrected.

• Selected to represent Marketing and Sales Operations on a newly developed cross-functional Supply Base Recovery work team that reviewed supply base delivery scores and attempted to proactively determine any supplier in jeopardy of causing production interruptions.

o Participated in monthly meetings with suppliers to review their operations and performance. Worked off line with suppliers that were determined to have potential capacity shortages and if required, worked with Vehicle Engineering to increase the suppliers tooling and capacity, preventing production down time.

Material Planning and Logistics Team Manager 1999-2007

Dearborn Engine and Fuel Tank Plant

Monitored all phases of production control for four-cylinder engine and steel fuel tank manufacturing including: production scheduling, end-item distribution, bill-of-material structuring, change control for new production parts and end items, inventory control, in-bound logistics, and synchronous material flow.

• Supervised the balance out of the Ford Focus SPI engine program in 2004, which involved balancing out over 150 unique parts, five times the number of parts typically seen in a model year change over.

o Met daily with seven Production Departments ensuring there were no supply issues to Vehicle Operations.

o Coordinated with Customer Service Division to verify all-time run quantities were met for components.

• Saved over $321K in potential obsolescence costs by working with Customer Service Division to sell at full value SPI engine Purchase Parts to them after balance out was completed.

• Launched Ford Focus engine in 2004 for the I-4 production line with zero supply issues.

o Program contained 53 new tooled end item parts with over 1 / 3 foreign sourced.

o As Material Handling team contributor, established storage locations for new parts in I-4 Market Place and line side.

o Implemented racking for all purchase parts at point-of-installation after consulting with Engine Assembly personnel ensuring part and ergonomic requirements were met.

• Served as Plant Champion for Vehicle Operations and Ford Customer Service Division delivery ratings.

o Achieved full year 2006, Vehicle Operations rating of 91.43 vs. objective of 90%.

o Achieved full year 2006, Ford Customer Service rating of 93.30% vs. objective of 90%.

• Saved over $500K annually through streamlining department staffing levels, reducing purchased services, and implementing new policies on overtime.

Ensured proper coordination and implementation of current and future model Bill-of-Material changes using Product Letter and Engineering release information to support vehicle program timing.
