My responsibilities included reading blueprints, assembling material to prints deminsion, using pie and measuring tapes, squares, levelers, and protractors. I used wall and overhead cranes to hold heavy parts during assembling.Our main course of projects were boilers, and I made spools and coils using tig welding while purging to prevent sugaring on the inside of tubes.I worked on A.S.M.E projects that required 100% penetration of welds.

Position required me to follow prints layout using Tig welding. I used decimals for a precise cut of material. I maintained logbooks, Saftey procedures were daily, maintenance on weldeing machines and shop tools.I was required to use Mig welding for heavy and long jobs. When always cleaned welds with brush to leave a clean finish. Bead blast small job to give a semi shine finish. This job required me to Tig weld on aluminum and stainless bellows as thin as paper without burning through. Cryogenic Products were the company specaility.

Required lockout and tag out before daily maintenence of Tub,flat grinders, vibrating and trommel screens. I would align or repair steel link and rubber belt conveyors that fed or discharged material. Often I had to build -up worn down teeth on drum of grinder.Was also a member of Local 150 Heavy Equipment Operator and had to operate a skid loader to feed porta plants while operating some with a remote control to regulate speed of feed.Greased and replaced worn bearing housings,gear boxes,motors,hydraulic cylinders and pumps. Stick welding was used for all repairs.

Hopped aboard to be part of the Maintenance mechanic crew to share my welding abilities with the team. Along with my welding, I carried out a number of responsibilities to make sure the Power Plant ran as needed. During plant shut down, lock-out and tag-out were the first steps along with communication from the control room Operators. My responsibilities involved removing,repairing,and installing pumps, valves,motors,bearing housings, and cylinders. Greased bearings, added hydraulic oil as needed, aligned conveyor belts and repaired. Packed Blue ram to walls inside damaged areas of boiler. Replaced worn hammers on grinder along with replacing or repairing broken screens. Became part of the Emergency Response Team and Safety Awareness Team. Inspections on Turbin, Cooling Towers,and Emergency Fire Walls were visual inspection that were Daily documented in a log book. Repaired cat walks,also added pipes from water system for cooling ash from boiler.
