Hello,
I would like to express my keen interest in a position with your company in Atlanta, Ga., and have enclosed my resume for your review. I hold a BBA in Business Management with a concentration in Supply Chain management (May 2010). A non-smoking 29 year old, I am a hard worker with strong work ethics.
I have three years experience with a 3PL company (Service By Air) where I worked both in the warehouse and front office. I have experience with a seated forklift, managed inventory during cross-docking, pulled/ verified orders (pick and pack), supervised several people in the warehouse and performed quality control on outgoing shipments, initiated domestic and international shipments, and completed documentation required for distribution. I also worked in the front office in sales and provided excellent customer service to existing customers. I am familiar with airline shipping and dash procedures and have experience in managing shipping accounts.
I have worked as a restaurant server for the past several years because it offered me the most flexibility in my working hours and enabled me to schedule work hours around my college classes. I have built a large client base there and am one of the top grossing servers at the restaurant. Overlapping my restaurant experience, I worked part time for five years with a home construction and remodeling company, handling material orders and deliveries and performing miscellaneous construction duties.
I completed a 3 month sales internship with Stim Trainer, a Bio-Tune Up health machine used to enhance strength and power, speed and agility, stretch and flexibility. I sold the machine at health fairs and provided customer service to existing customers.
I learn fast and know I can do a great job for you. I have excellent computer skills and feel confident that I could quickly master any software or equipment that is necessary for the position. I am friendly, get along with everyone, and am an excellent team member.
Please review the enclosed resume and consider my application. I am very eager to begin a business career and will work hard for your organization. I am open to a position that requires travel (up to 50%) and can go off site to train. Ideally, I would like to start around 28,000 per year, but this is negotiable. I am looking for a sales or supply chain position, but am willing to start in any entry level position you have available. If a full time position is not available, I would also be interested in a contract position or temporary paid internship (6-12 months), in order to gain valuable business experience. I can be available to start anytime after Dec. 12, 2011, after giving two weeks notice to my present employer.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
