Supervised Assistant Personnel Manager, receptionist, A/P clerk, five security guards. Responsible for negotiating vendor contracts, liaison with insurance carriers.
• Instituted new hiring processes to ensure quality new hires. Reduced turnover from 200% in 1986 to less than 10% in 1996.
• Served as chief spokesman in contract negotiations. Reduced grievances by 90%.
• Instituted programs and policies that resulted in a reduction of Workers Compensation losses from $488,000 in 1986 to less than $100,000 in 1988. Reductions continued and were $30,000 in 1996.
• Drove change initiatives that affected the culture, processes and jobs and resulted in the plant improving from the poorest performing of four plants to the highest performing in efficiency, quality and safety in two years.
