Proven experience in a wide range of Safety and Health Management activities, including:
• Conducting and documenting daily inspections of all project work undertaken by subcontractor and general contractor employees, and reporting to government officials.
• Collaboration with local and state government officials, and with various Federal Agencies, including the US Army Corps of Engineer.
• Performing accident and spill investigations, and completing all necessary reports and notifications.
• Conducting new hire orientations, training new Compliance Safety & Health Officers, documenting employee training and disciplinary actions.
• Purchasing and maintaining company safety equipment.
• Successfully leading Accident and Fatality investigations in line with governmental regulatory requirements.
• Documenting safety & health violations in compliance with AKOSH and OSHA regulations, and assisting employers with violation abatement.
• Facilitating complaints from employees in order to assist in Wage & Hour cases.
• Testifying as an expert witness during Conferences, Review Board Hearings and court proceedings on a variety of Safety and Health cases.
• Participating as an expert witness on Safety & Health issues in law suits pertaining to on the job injuries.
• Monitoring of air and gases in utility corridors (utilidors).
• Investigating employee complaints and imminent danger situations, preparing and presenting safety meetings.
• Creating proper notifications for hot work permits, and confined space entries, as well as notifications to area residents of power, heat, sewage or water shutdowns.
• Additional skills include warehouse work leader, CDL Class B truck driver and Journeyman Carpenter, supervising up to 8 carpenters and 2 laborers.
SAMPLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Introduced Alaskan OSH Consultation Services to inspect two sites for OSHA violations, resulting in a favorable report with only three minor violations all of which were corrected the following day.
• Successfully passed a US Army Corps of Engineers District Safety & Health inspection for the Pacific Rim, providing accurate and complete documentation.
• Managed up to 40 new Emergency Firefighters in the warehousing of State Forestry firefighting equipment and supplies.
• Returned to University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety & Health.
