I am looking for employment as an Administrative Assistant. I would prefer a part-time (25 hrs./wk.) position, with some flexibility in the schedule. I would be happy to discuss this with you if I meet your criteria for employment.
Job History
I began working at WLVS Radio, WPB, FL, at the age of fifteen (15) and worked there until I married (1980). I was a receptionist in the mornings, answering telephones, typing and filing, and then was an on-air personality (DJ) in the afternoons.
I worked for the Visiting Homemaker's Service of Ocean County, Toms River, NJ, after
my children started school. I began in 1989, caring for elderly individuals in their homes,
and providing respite for their caretakers. I also ran errands and shopped for them. It
was also my responsibility to make sure they were in a clean and safe environment. I had
to resign in 1992 after an unexpected death in the family required my attention.
I worked for the Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School, Little Egg Harbor, NJ, as a play-
ground/cafeteria aide. I was in charge of two classes (grades 3 & 4) while their teachers
were at lunch or attending meetings. The summer of 2002, I worked with the Curriculum
Office to make sure the classroom inventory was correct, including books, workbooks, and
school supplies, both for the teachers and the students. I worked here for ten (10) years.
I worked as a Housekeeper at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference, Harvey Cedars, NJ, until
Nov. 1, 2006. I prepared rooms for guests, as well as the meeting spaces and conference
rooms. This required a lot of teamwork, to ensure that the tasks were completed in a
timely manner. I was employed here for three (3) years.
I worked at Walmart, Manahawkin, NJ, in the Jewelry Department. I assisted customers
with their purchases of fine jewelry, as well as making sure the displays were neat and
organized, and stocked as necessary. My only concern with this job was the late-night
hours, which ultimately made me seek other employment. I was employed here from
Nov. 4, 2006 - April 11, 2007.
I worked for Seaport Agency Real Estate, Tuckerton, NJ, as an Administrative Assistant
from July, 2007 until November, 2008. I ultimately received my New Jersey Real Estate
License. My job was terminated due to the current economic instability and the downturn in real estate sales. The office has closed permanently.
Skills and Interests
I have basic knowledge of the Windows Operating Systems, including XP and Vista. I can
type 40-60 wpm - I received a Typing Award in High School. I have used several office
machines over the years. My parents owned a printing business and retail store, which
helped me develop people-skills. My strongpoint is organization. I am very dependable
and enjoy making other people's jobs easier by staying organized and paying attention
to detail.
Education
I graduated from Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach, FL, in 1979, with the
Honor of Salutatorian of my graduating class. I also received a Paralegal Certificate from
Harcourt Learning, an in-home Study Course, in 2001. I attended Real Estate School
in Jan. of 2007, completing the process and earning my New Jersey Real Estate License.
