Qualifications: Years of extensive work experience as a creative, detail-oriented graphic artist has prepared me for working freelance. My creative growth continues to enhance my talent and skill in digital design and layout. Believe good communication is the key ingredient when working with clients to determine what he/she really needs to get their message across in print. Staying open to new ideas, influences and changing trends. Have the ability to switch modes easily when a client wants something “different”. My self-discipline and speed allows me to budget my time, meet deadlines and production schedules easily and efficiently.
Experience:
1988 - 1/2009 Ford Press, Inc., Leesburg, FL - Art Director
Twenty years at the largest commercial print shop in Lake County, Florida has given me a variety of experience in many different types of jobs. From simple business cards and letterheads to designing elaborate full color newsletters, elegant brochures, staggered inserts, booklets and many other publications. More complex designs were often required with special die cuts, foils, opaque inks, and folds. Have a great understanding of process, spot, monotones and duotone color. Part of my duties included maintaining job flow, organization, production times, and coordinating work flow with artists, owners and production manager in the pre-press area. Evaluated prospective new artists, testing their capabilities. Worked closely with outside vendors, getting jobs to them as they required.
1986-1988 Self-Employed Avon Representative
During my children’s infancy worked part-time door-to-door sales. Being a highly motivated individual and creating innovative new ideas for sales enabled me the first year to receive the top sales award from area manager.
