• Corporate Safety Director - divisions of the Corporation which include, Steel Erection, Underground Utilities, Concrete, Vehicle Fleet Maintenance and Corporate Safety. EMR Review and reduction (1.49 to .88), accident investigation, up-date Written Safety Programs, Personal Protective Equipment Inventories/costs, Employee Training on OSHA/MSHA and Site Specific Contract Orientations, conducted field/site inspections. DFW International Airport’s Joint Venture with Balfour Beatty US, ROCIP Program to ensure Safety on the Project.

(TRIP-Terminal Renovation and Improvement Program) Provide support and guidance to the multi-faceted Azteca-Omega Group, ensuring the Company’s objectives in Safety are paramount. Train accident prevention by communicating with all personnel to be more aware of their surroundings, being a diverse workforce sometimes in English or Spanish. Ensure that the Job Hazard Analysis’ has been used as a tool for work being performed, frequently reviewed for the daily objective(s). Conduct Accident Investigations to find the root cause(s), not the blame in incident/accidents. Control issuance of personal protective equipment through internal inventory controls and minimize costs through comparative vendor pricing, quality and delivery. Kept Management informed of specific Safety regulations or changes in OSHA Standards that may affect the work. Monitor and update employee training topics. Oversee changes or make recommendations as necessary for State and Federal Compliance.

Manage day-to-day client interaction regarding related safety issues or safety meeting attendance. Maintain a high level of accountability with Foreman/Superintendents regarding Safety site inspections, JHA’s, incident reporting, daily equipment pre-inspections, etc. Provide printed materials or guest speakers for Toolbox talks. Share/review lessons learned or best practices from across Company lines. Meet monthly with Company Work Compensation Carrier/Company on losses, injuries, damage claims, with special regard to EMR’s. Maintain the OSHA 300 logs and coordinate case management of any WC cases. Meet with upper Management monthly to report Safety for the entire Company Group. Assist, support, encourage staff and workers in Safety at all times. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
