SUMMARY:

This project converts the available AC supply to controlled DC supply using Thyristor Based Full Controlled Rectifier Bridge Converter. In this project we design a Full Controlled Converter with SCRs as Switches. Instead of employing analog R, RC and UJT Triggering Circuits, we employe 8051 Microcontroller based firing circuits to generate Gate Pulses for the SCR Switches to control the system digitally.

DESCRIPTION:

This Project deals with the different power control strategies for a DSTATCOM. The strategy compared are Voltage Oriented Control (VOC) this VOC strategy based on the coordination system and also mainly focussing on acheving unity power factor by reactive power compensation. DSTATCOM is used for mitigating many power quality problems caused by various types of loads in distribution system. This compensatin used in transmission lines to reduce reactive power.
