NACE certified coating inspector desires position in the field of Quality Assurance/Control for Fabrications and the application of Protective Coatings and Linings in the Oil and Gas and other industries.

Versatile experience in the Fabrication, inspection, welding, protective coatings and linings for oilfield, offshore, municipalities and power generation equipment, Wastewater and water as well as engineered products and related components. Expertise in the areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Iso interpretation ,Production Management, Coating Applications, and some Lab Testing. Working under the following standards, NORSOK M501, ISO 12944-1998 , ISO 20340-2003 ,NACE ,SSPC,AWS,ASME I Have extensive working knowledge in Inspection, supervision, management positions, budgets, and timelines, inspection/personnel coordination, Third party source inspections, and project estimations. Some highlights of pertinent experience:

In-service/Capital inspection of various types of equipment, examples of; pressure vessels, tanks, piping, structural etc. Have worked extensively with mechanical integrity programs. Third party/source/vendor surveillance inspection auditing, procedure generation, corrective actions, NDT witnessing and interpretation. QA/QC Sr. Fabrication / Coatings Inspector

Maintain and operate the QA/QC department for the Houston and surrounding areas performing duties for multiple Engineering firms in rehabilitation and new construction of Municipal facilities and offshore equipment

Perform quality inspections with customers and end users such as Shell, Chevron, FMC, Exxon Mobile, Oceaneering and numerous other customers. Issuing of Ncr’s for non compliant vendors, reviewing of Car’s and Par’s.

Manage, train, and ensure that personnel are compliant with required specifications and testing requirements from standards organizations such as ISO, NACE, SSPC, ASTM, AWS ASME among many other tasks. Perform project management and testing of all required Welding/surface preparation and applied coatings with such projects as drilling risers and high profile sub-sea equipment. Ground Storage Tanks, Elevated water tanks, Vessels, Piping, Skid packages.

Perform and monitor in-house testing per the above noted standards organizations such as adhesion testing, cohesion testing, Mandrel bend straps, cure test, soluble salt testing, Sulfide testing holiday testing (high and low voltage), among several other test methods and manage any test needing to be performed by third party laboratories.

Created Training Programs for individual management and shop personnel. In addition to creating the required QMS documentation, procedures and specifications were also created to the end-users requirements.

Typical coatings applied to which I’m familiar with are zinc rich, organic and inorganic, two part epoxies, plural component epoxies ,polyurethane’s, Polyureas, zinc phosphate conversion coatings, Phenolic epoxies, dry film lubricant applications such as xylans and Molybdenum’s, and sacrificial applications of thermal spray aluminums and zincs by both arc spray and flame spray.

Performed project management and inspection duties for new construction of ground storage tanks, hydropneumatic tanks, elevated water towers, and municipality rehabilitations including wastewater treatment plants, and lift and pump stations, natural gas tap stations, compressor stations, and dehydration plants and offshore platforms equipment for the following projects B.P. Thunderhorse, Conoco Phillips Bohai Bay, Shell Perdido

Inspection activities included welding/Fabrication inspections, review of x-rays, and overseeing all activities involved with various specifications for the surface preparations and application of protective coatings and linings all per applicable codes company procedures, specifications including ASME,AWS,API,CWI,NACE and NDT.

Experience also in hot dip galvanizing, Inspection of (Mig, Tig, heliarc and structural welding, ultrasonic thickness testing UT,PT,RT, Hydro testing of pressure vessels and TECQ Municipality Inspections, HDPE extrusions, Thermal Spray Aluminum, Concrete Coatings, Zinc, and Tin and fabrication & extrusion of Sub-sea Umbilical lines and platforms.
