Supervise offenders who have been assigned to special housing based on their negative behavior, and their total disregard to the rules that have been established by the department. Perform searches of living areas as well as the offenders themselves; maintain documentation of the checks that are made. Escort offenders to the medical department for their routine checks as well as sick call, and escort the medical staff in order for the staff to pass out medication. Deliver meals to the offenders, pass out mail and pick up out going mail. Escort offenders to the recreation yard and monitor their behavior, and ensure that the offenders are not passing contraband to one another. Monitor visitation to ensure that the visitor is not passing contraband to the offender, and that the other visitors are safe from harm. Perform perimeter checks to ensure that the facility has not been compromised in any way. Monitor offender behavior while they are performing their work assignments and account for each offender. Conduct accountability inspections to make sure that all of the offenders assigned to each housing unit are accounted for.
