ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Worked closely with executives and performers to designed and introduce a custom Project Management methodology to MidAtlantic Convenience Stores, resulting in significant time savings, improved project outcomes and project visibility.

• Upgraded Advance Auto Parts Reverse Logistics for an annual savings of $20MM by utilizing RF Scanning in the stores. EDI, Accounting, product ordering and redesigning processes were improved in the stores, distributions centers, and home office. Worked closely with business partners to identify weaknesses in the old system and to introduce the new.

• Managed the merger of Wachovia and First Union’s on-line banking login page by coordinating the efforts of 150 people to deliver this high-visibility project on time and on budget. Managed changes in Marketing, Internal Communications, Customer Support, Technical Support and other business areas.

• Developed an SLA methodology that used a business centric rather than technical model, reducing the overall effort by 60 percent while providing more functional and maintainable documents.

• Took UMASS Medical School from an all-paper to computerized school management system, using a single database to track applicants, students and alumni for the Medical school, Graduate Nursing school, and School of Graduate Science

• Managed a phone survey of all of Prime Computer's customers. Worked with the business partners and survey firm to design the questionnaire and train staff. Pre-staged data capture, analysis, reporting and presentation methods to allow for rapid assessment and presentation

• Established a PMO and PM custom methodology for use by all departments in order to place controls around corporate activity. Worked with executives and performers to develop the methodology, document the process, train PMs and help them to manage their projects. The methodology was first developed with HR then rolled out to other departments. Weekly status reports were presented at the Executive meeting.

Senior Project Manager, Advance Auto Parts

• Led redesign of the Reverse Logistics processes. The original request was to utilized scanners to identify and track materials returned to the Distribution Centers. A team of IT and business SMEs was organized to investigate the current system and found ample opportunity for improved accounting, materials handling, and tracking methods for an estimated annual savings of $20MM. Worked closely with Accounting, Marketing, Merchandising and IT to develop a robust implementation plan involving technology, communication and training to 3,300 stores, 8 Distribution Centers, and 2 headquarters operations to ensure user acceptance.

• Assessed the Personal Injury group’s processes to understand where the department was having issues. Mapped the system, providing the group with a common process map and business vocabulary. The system involved multiple vendors who were not communicating, resulting in many data management inefficiencies. This was brought to the vendors’ attention and the problem was resolved at no cost to Advance Auto.

• Implemented ImageNow to scan the signed delivery sheets in support of Accounts Receivable at 19 operating companies. Developed a robust implementation plan with strong emphasis on end user communication. Scheduling, training, stakeholder communications, documentation, and all other aspects of the rollout to the business were addressed to ensure that they would accept the new product.

• Led the design, development, and implementation of ImageNow workflow management for a new SAP Accounts Payable rollout. Developed a system to scan and move images to the correct workflow queues. The invoices entered SAP for further processing, and were decisioned using ImageNow workflow.

• Managed the reporting relationship with the TS2, primary Helix software vendor. Improved quality and utility of the project reporting, reducing weekly report delivery time from 4 days to one hour. Worked with Marketing, Internal Communications, IT, Technical Support, and the Call Center to ensure the team was prepared to deliver a smooth implementation of the new system.

• Evaluated Wachovia and First Union’s existing intranets to provide a baseline for integration. Conducted an on-site study to define intranet usage patterns in the branch offices.

• Coordinated the selection of a Digital Certificate vendor for a Public Key Infrastructure implementation. Gathered requirements, wrote the RFP, managed the RFP review and selection process, scheduled and conducted onsite presentations, and coordinated the final evaluation and selection process.

• Implemented Single Signon. The SSO serves all employees and customers of the bank, providing positive authentication and non-repudiation for online banking, building access and other functions. Conducted feasibility study in preparation for implementation of an Enterprise Directory to link multiple user repositories to enable true SSO.

• Selected a vendor to provide a Document Management and Content Management solution. Developed requirements, researched the market, established a short list of vendors, prepared and sent an RFP, and assembled evaluation team to review the responses and to view the vendor presentations.

• Led the Learning Contract Study to determine if the Medical School was meeting its mission. Able to use SDB to demonstrate that it was, ensuring that the school would not be eliminated by the state legislature.
