Global purchasing, inventory planning, and production control position. Managed staff of 15 globally.

• Turned around bankrupt company leading to sale. Reduced total $110 million inventory on hand by over 20% first two years while maintaining 98% fill rate, including reductions in both factory raw material and finished goods. Ran SNOP. Total spend $450 million.

• Reduced vendor lead times and total supply chain transit times by implementing 3PL process as well as managing key vendor held components and commodities [steel, oil resin].

• Managed purchasing plan, customs & compliance, all logistics, and resolved quality issues with up to 200 suppliers, 40% overseas. Entire department qualified Six Sigma.

• Master scheduled multi plant facilities, factory capacity planning, make vs buy, and assemble to order process, resulting in reduced factory labor costs while maintaining efficiency for plastic injected molded parts, plastics, castings, and stampings operations.

A $50MM manufacturer of soft & hardgoods giftware & garden for mass and specialty retailers.

Materials Manager/Purchasing, Sourcing, & Production Control Manager 1994 - 2002

Materials and procurement position supporting executive staff, managing up to 45 staff.

• Negotiated prices and terms for about 1,000 new giftware finished goods products each year from four different Asian countries for almost 8 years, up to $20 million. Travel to China and Taiwan since 1994 to set up factory relationships reducing costs, qualify vendors, troubleshoot quality, etc. Developed new products.

• Reduced finished goods inventory on hand by $2 million in one year, increased order fill rate from 60% to 90%, increased stock turn by 20%. SKU rationalization. Ran SNOP.

• Led Supply Chain ERP software conversion in planning, purchasing, and distribution for 5,000 multi-levels BOM SKU’s. Designed packaging and some finished goods.

• Designed domestic warehouse and redesigned UK distribution center. Turned around QC Dept. Turned around new production manufacturing department.

• Reduced inventory by 65% with record low stock out levels, inventory planning and replenishment buying for over 50,000 line items valued in excess of $300 million at cost.
