One of the hospitals under Trinity Health Care Systems whose emergency room sees on average of 250+ patients a day.
* Work under the direction of the ER nurses to obtain orthostatic vital signs, glucose levels, assist with daily living activities, start IVs, and assist in restraining combative patients.
* Perform EKG’s, insert Foley Catheters, retrieve blood from blood bank, assist with spinal taps and pelvic exams.
* Assist nurses and doctor’s on incoming codes relating to respiratory and cardiac arrest issues i.e. placing cardiac monitors; assist in transfer of deceased patients to morgue, and transfer patients to rooms.
* Draw specimens on patients for the lab including blood cultures, BMP, CBC, Troponin, rapid influenza cultures, strep; collect urine and stool samples from patients to send to the lab.
* Change bedpans, adult diapers, and colostomy bags, and oxygen tanks as required.
