• Implemented new technologies and automation in production resulting in substantial cost savings and an increase in company sales and profits (i.e. Innovax product line, Coccivac vaccine improvements, serum reduction plan, new filling and labeling machines).

• Collaborated with R&D to produce and gain approval of the first USDA bivalent swine influenza vaccine (SIV) licensed (EndFluence II) and the subsequent production of many batches of high quality autogenous SIV vaccines.

• Initiated many closed system methods to reduce product contamination.

• Completed Six Sigma Yellow Belt including Root Cause Analysis using Merck Production System Tools such as “Fishbone” and “5 Whys”.

• Pinpointed the identity of capacity limitations through Bottleneck Studies.

• Incorporated Safety programs into production to help prevent injuries and reduce lost time incidents.

• Initiated a project to extend a product expiration date which resulted in $94,230 of cost savings.

• Started up a new lab and building for the production of Chicken Anemia Virus (CAV).

• Responsible for all aspects of the Chicken Embryo Origin Production Laboratory, Chicken Anemia Virus Laboratory and Egg Incubation Department including the production of many bulk poultry viral antigens such as Infectious Bronchitis, Infectious Bursal Disease, Reo Virus, Newcastle Disease, Chicken Anemia, and Swine influenza viruses.

Production Supervisor (December, 1991 to December, 1997)

• Responsible for all aspects of the production of cell-associated Marek’s Disease vaccines, finished non-Marek’s products in a Central Filling Lab, and direction of the daily operations of the Tissue Culture Department with 20 direct reports.

• Responsible for assisting with the supervision and direction of 20 direct reports in Tissue Culture Production. Led a production task force to improve production efficiencies and titers.
