WORK EXPERIENCE

HHC/1-168 IN, Gardez, Paktya, Afghanistan 01/2011 - 07/2011 Scout Platoon Leader

Platoon Leader of a 23 Soldier Scout Platoon, consisting of 3 Scout Squads, that is forwardly deployed in Gardez District, Paktya Province, Afghanistan. Supports a 1000 Soldier, battle space owning Infantry Task Force charged with conducting counterinsurgency and combat operations in support of Afghan National Security Forces and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Responsible for the training, discipline, morale, welfare, and safety of all Soldiers within the platoon. Assists in synchronizing and supervising reconnaissance support for the Task Force’s tactical plan. Responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of combat patrols and missions. Partners with ANSF and support all lines of efforts to include governance, security, agriculture, development and information operations. Responsible for over $12M of organic and theater provided equipment.

HHC/1-168 IN, Narizah, Khost, Afghanistan 11/2010 - 01/2011 Scout Platoon Leader

Platoon Leader of a 23 Soldier Scout Platoon, consisting of 3 Scout Squads, that is forwardly deployed in Tani District, Khost Province, Afghanistan. Supports a 100 Soldier, battle space owning Maneuver Company charged with conducting counterinsurgency and combat operations in support of Afghan National Security Forces and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Responsible for the training, discipline, morale, welfare, and safety of all Soldiers within the platoon. Assists in synchronizing and supervising reconnaissance support for the Company Commander’s tactical plan. Responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of combat patrols and missions. Partners with ANSF and support all lines of efforts to include governance, security, agriculture, development and information operations. Served as Company Pay Agent for Projects and Small Rewards Program in which I was responsible for and paid over $20,000 to Host Nation locals. Responsible for over $7M of organic and theater provided equipment.

HHC/1-168 IN, Fort Irwin, CA USA 09/2010 - 10/2010 Scout Platoon Leader

Platoon Leader of 23 Soldiers and 3 mounted Scout squads during a rotation at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA. Supported the entire battalion during Full Spectrum Operations in "The Box". Received The Order of the Cobra at the conclusion of training, which was awarded to the most outstanding Soldier within the battalion. Successfully prepared the platoon for a combat deployment to Afghanistan.

HHC/1-168 IN, Camp Shelby, MS USA 08/2010 - 09/2010 Scout Platoon Leader

Platoon Leader of 23 Soldiers and 3 mounted Scout squads during Pre-Mobilization training at Camp Shelby, MS. Conducted qualification ranges for the M4, M249, M2, MK19, M110, M109, M24, M320, and crew gunnery. Successfully trained the platoon on COIN operations, Urban Operations, Combine Action Operations, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle training, Cultural Awareness Training, and Language training. Successfully prepared the platoon for a combat deployment to Afghanistan.

Responsible for the training and tactical employment of the platoon in full spectrum and COIN operations with a focus on urban, limited visibility, precision as well as combined operations with Host Nation Security Forces. Responsible for the combat readiness, retention, welfare, morale, conduct, and force protection of the platoon and the well-being of their families. Responsible for planning, implementation, and evaluation of training designed to develop leadership, cohesion, and tactical and technical proficiency within the platoon. Responsible for over $50,000 worth of MTOE and installation equipment. Additional duty as Battalion Mobilization Officer. Completed United States Army Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course.

4223rd US Army Hospital, Omaha, NE USA 01/2005 - 06/2006 Platoon Leader

Platoon Leader of a 36 Soldier Medical Platoon. Responsible for the collective training of the platoon in accordance with the unit commander's guidance and training goals. Responsible for the administrative, maintenance, logistical, and personal issues within the platoon. Responsible for maintaining retention and attrition rates within specified guidelines as directed.
