Responsible for teams of up to 108 employees, consisting of manufacturing engineers, manufacturing technicians, equipment technicians, and process technicians. Ownership of multiple areas’ throughput, equipment availability, cycle time performance, scrap, yield, and costs.

Achievements:

• Coordinated extensive off-site technician training with vendors to improve equipment availability by 6%.

• Reduced vendor service contracts after increasing technician headcount and completing training schedule to reduce costs by $3,000,000 year on year.

• Implemented changes to RTD dispatching rules and overhead automation system to reduce product cycle time from +21 days to target to -8 days to target in a 5 month period.

• Developed multiple manufacturing reports to assist managers and technicians to monitor real-time performance to improve product flow.

• Instituted and drove improvements to significantly reduce product scrap and achieve established targets. Area scrap reduced from ~3500 wafers in 2007, to ~1700 wafers in 2008.
