• As the Activity Customer Technical Representative, my primary responsibility was to serve as the sole technical body of knowledge for Naval Station Great Lakes. Which include management of the Windows 2000 Server Farm, Exchange Server 5.5, and support for 1200 desktops systems running Windows 2000 Professional
• Implemented the Great Lakes Web Portal, using WSS, MS IIS, and MS Front Page 2000. This served as a one stop shop for all information regarding assignments, day to day business, and up to date information on Naval Station Great Lakes.
• As the NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet) project manager, conducted weekly meetings to discuss the design and implementation of the NMCI network. The meetings included server farm location and infrastructure concerns, cost of implementation on a per seat basis, and equipment requirements. Also discussed the compilation of the gold disk, and consolidation of more than 10,000 programs the Navy currently operated.
• Served as the Information Systems Security Manager, and ensure 100% integrity of the system. Performed information security risk assessments and serve as an internal auditor for security issues. Implements information security policies and procedures for the organization, and reviewed all system-related security plans throughout the organization's network. Monitored compliance with all information security policies and procedures, and referred problems to the command security manager.

• Manager for classified and unclassified high-speed networks employing over 250 Windows 2000 workstations and 6 Windows 2000 Servers located within the ship.
• Supervised and managed the installation and maintenance of over $10M of Super High Frequency Satellite communications equipment that provided connectivity to more that 400 users while the ship was away from port.
• Managed a project to design and implement Information Technology 21st Century (IT-21) into the ship. This project provided infrastructure, workstations, servers, and both in port and underway connectivity. The IT-21 concept included 250 unclassified workstations and 150 classified (Secret) workstations.
• Developed policies, procedures, standards, and instructions on IA/INFOSEC activities, working with Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO's) to advise, coordinate and facilitate resolution of IA/INFOSEC issues; drafting, reviewing, and/or providing guidance on IA/INFOSEC requirements, system security plans security architectures and diagrams, test plans and scripts, certification and accreditation packages.
• Field Tester for the Land Attack Warfare System (now under the name ADOCS) based on a UNIX Platform.
• Tested and recommended changes to the software based on performance and ease of integration.
• Deployed the software on other ships in the fleet, and provided training on set-up and operation.
• Drafted the Y2K Information Technology testing plan, to ensure that all ship systems operated correctly when the New Year arrived. The plan was tested pier-side, and proved successful. Then the plan was integrated into the 7th Fleet Battle Group, and tested while at sea to ensure the systems will function as normal.
