Sales Career:

DiaSorin Corporation (January 2011 – present) – Diagnostic Sales Specialist

Primary responsibilities are to sell infectious disease testing kits, bone density kits and other specialty kits along with instrumentation of the Chemiluminescense (CLIA) and Enzyme Linked Immunoassay (ELISA) based technologies to hospital labs, reference labs, and large physician clinics and physician office laboratories. I also sell ELISA based autoimmune assays on a large platform and manual methods. Conveying the comparisons of GCMS & LC/MS methods to potential customers. I have spent much of my non-selling time training other sales people in ELISA and CLIA technologies and what they are used for. I sell the Liaison, and Eti-Max instruments. Major accounts of mine have been the US government, Sonic Laboratories (CPL) in Austin, Texas, and Quest Laboratories (SED) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sales growth has been limited by reduction in transaction charges and competition.

Diamedix Corporation (September 2008-January 2011) and (January 2001-September 2003) – Sales Specialist

I sold Instrumentation and ELISA kits for testing of Autoimmune and Infectious Diseases. Sold the MAGO Plus and the Dynex instruments DSX and DS2. Major accounts I worked with were Sonora Quest in Phoenix, Arizona, Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, the University Medical Center and Southwest Bioclinical labs all in San Antonio, Texas, Ben Taub Hospital, St. Luke’s Presbyterian Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Hospital all in Houston, Texas, UTMB in Galveston Texas, TriCore Labs in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and other laboratories throughout the South and Southwest US. I was number one in sales during both stays at Diamedix. Placed a total of 16 MAGO instruments as reagent rentals(ATP $55,000 each), and increased sales by over 10% per year the last tenure. Received President’s Achievement Award 3 years.

Trinity Biotech (August 2005 – July 2008) – National Account Manager

Sold Instrumentation for ELISA kits for Autoimmune and Infectious Disease testing, coagulation and was National Account Manager for HIV testing kits. For the first half of 2008 was number one of 7 NAM in HIV sales.

BioMerieux (September 2003 – January 2005) – Area Sales Specialist

Responsible for selling instruments and reagents for Microbiology, Coagulation and PCR and DVT testing. Sold 12 systems during tenure ranging in price from ~$20,000-~150,000.

Physicians Office Laboratory representative. Consistently made quota.

Roche Diagnostic Systems (September 1983 – October 1998) - Key Account Manager

Promoting Drugs of Abuse testing for 5 years of my career at Roche. I was the Key Account Manager for this product line and was the coordinator of transitioning the Drug Testing Labs of the US military from RIA testing methods to an Immunoassay method of testing. I helped establish the cutoffs for 10 specific assays with the help of ASFT and the military testing program. I helped NIDA (SAMSHA) drug testing facilities bring the new assays on line and develop systems to help them coordinate positive screens with GC/MS testing. Interpreting results from the screens and how they compared to the GC/MS results. Teaching new and current testing facilities on the immunological aspects of drug testing. I lead the country in sales in various products over the years. In Diagnostic Sales was consistently in top 5 of 45 representatives, and ranked 1 or 2 out of 7 in KAM representatives each year. President’s Achievement Awards, Special Products Awards, Who’s Who Recognition.

Laboratory Project Manager and Associate Business Manager I developed the first written and active Business Development Plan for this large, prestigious facility. I worked closely with the various department managers and PHDs to produce budgetary actions that would grow the laboratory and fit into federal and state guidelines

Logan Regional Hospital, Logan UT (June 1976 – June 1978)

Manager of Immunology, Serology and Blood Bank. I managed 5 people in this department and established a training and development system for cross-training individuals I worked closely with the administration and other department leaders to do this. In addition, I worked with people in the community to give them a clear idea of donating blood and making blood drives in the community to make us self sufficient.

Rose Medical Center, Denver, CO (September 1972 – June 1978)

Late Night Laboratory Director for entire laboratory. I was instrumental in working with the administration of the hospital to develop a paid time off system that included vacation, holidays and sick leave all in one encompassing plan. It became a standard that I have seen grow across the country as Paid Time Off. I worked closely with the 25 people I managed to eliminate the need for overtime and worked on a number of committees in the hospital to grow the hospital to one of the most respected medical centers in the city of Denver.

Department of Interior, Denver CO (January 1972 – September 1972)

Operated pesticide related testing laboratory for wildlife. Studied the immunology of pesticides on wildlife. Did necropsies and dissections on the animals tested.

Department of the Army, Nurnberg, Germany (October 1970 – January 1972)

Supervisor of Microbiology, hematology and urinalysis. Managed a group of service and non-service individuals in the various sections of the laboratory that I managed. Worked closely with the administration of the hospital and sat on the Infectious Diseases Committee in the hospital.
