SUMMARY

I am retired Government and Military, looking for something full-time or part-time to supplement my retirement income. I am a self starter, great at working alone, but I also work well as part of a team. I have an excellent work ethic and I am dedicated to a high standard of work. I am experienced as assistant to Generals, Colonels and Sergeant Majors, and can get along with just about everyone.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Computers- Familiar with LINIX, most experience is with Windows and MSDOS. Excellent experience in PowerPoint presentations, and have worked extensively with Excel and Word. Able to understand and do extensive research on the Internet.

Administrative-Have set up and established workable and understandable filing systems. Have developed Standard Operating Procedures, (SOPs), for different work stations. Can type 42 wpm and have worked with ten key by touch. Capable of doing memorandums, reports and correspondence.

Civilian Work Experience - 1985-2006

Program Assistant, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, (DCSOPS), State Department of Military Affairs. Reason for leaving: Retired.

Assisted in matters concerning organizational structure and development of Colorado Army National Guard (COARNG) Units. Gathering and processing information for preparedness, readiness and mobilization of COARNG Units. Developing, processing and conducting PowerPoint presentations to Command. Other duties included general office skills including the development and filing of memorandums, development of SOPs, correspondence and reports.

Voucher Examiner, Pay and Exam United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO), COARNG. Reason for leaving: Promotion.

Was responsible for the evaluation, correction, updating, and submission of Travel Vouchers, Permanent Change of Station, (PCS), moves and Commercial Accounts for the COARNG and civilian government employees. This also involved determining the accuracy of the requests for payment, and validation of legalities involved in the payments.

Administrative Assistant, USPFO, COARNG. Reason for leaving: Transferred

Supervised the administrative operation of the USPFO. Performed general office work pertaining to the mission of the organization, such as maintaining files, processing correspondence, updating and maintaining daily work schedules and travel itineraries. Implemented and developed a working filing system to enhance the efficiency of the department.

Telecommunications Center Specialist, USPFO, COARNG. Reason for leaving: Promotion

Securing, logging, filing, and distributing all messages obtained and sent through computerized secure systems. Performed daily statistical analysis of all incoming and outgoing traffic. To improve efficiency, was able to present to management the need for upgrading system. Supervised the installation of new hardware, and developed SOP for day to day operation of new system.

Retired as the State Mobilization Readiness NCO, ACES Manager, and Frequency Manager, MSG/E-8, in the DCSOPS, COARNG, in charge of 4 Soldiers.

Held the position of Branch Chief, in charge of Special Schools for the COARNG Regional Training Institute (RTI).

Appointed as an Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer (ANCOC) Training Instructor, COARNG RTI.

Held the position of Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodian and Assistant State COMSEC Inspector, Headquarters, State Army Command (HQ STARC).

Held the position as an Administrative Assistant/Platoon Sergeant, HQ STARC, COARNG.
