PROFILE :
I have over 20 years experience as a high voltage Lineman working with voltages from 4 Kv to 34 Kv. I also supervised field crews on various line and Substation projects.
I have over 5 years experience in Electrical Distribution Design. I have designed Overhead and Underground systems ranging from 4 Kv to 115 Kv. I am well versed with NEC, NESC and OSHA practices and regulations. I can read and understand electrical
diagrams, drawings and prints. I am proficient in the use of Construction Standards used
by various Utility's.
I have over 6 years experience as an Electrical Estimator. Estimating and managing projects in the Industrial, Commercial, Utility and Public Works Projects. I have experience in working with Customers on Design / Build projects. I have experience with Estimation software such as Estimation, Accubid and using spreadsheets and job histories. I have experience with other office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlooks and such. I have used CAD and Micro station design software as well.
I am very personable and I work well with my co-workers and clients. I have the ability to meet with new and existing clients and to be able to establish a close working relationship with them. I also have experience working with vendors to be able to obtain the lowest price on materials and equipment in order to win contracts. And then be able to get better prices on the buy-out.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :
Employer : Patrick ESI Wayne Pa. May 2007-February 2009
Project : PECO SUMMER CRITICAL PROJECT
Objective : To up grade existing Overhead and Underground 4 KV Distribution Systems
to 34 Kv due to customer growth.
Duties : Review PECO Engineered scope of work provided by text and one line
diagram of the area to be up-graded. Field engineer the job and determine
how many poles would need to be installed or replaced, Wire size needed
for up-grade, transformer and fuse co-ordinations. Confirm correct clearances
of other utilities on the pole or structure. Draw new one-line diagram for
PECO approval. Upon approval from PECO , I would design the job using
PECO’s design and project management software (Passport), co-ordinate
any outage required to complete the job and apply for any permits needed
such as Right of Way on Public or Private properties. Submit a construction
design to be used during construction and final approval of the Utility. Upon
completion of the project, submit to the mapping department of the utility all
as built drawings needed to upgrade the existing drawings.

Project : 115 Kv Dual Feed Substation Northeast Utilities
Objective : Estimate new Dual feed Substation for new Bag House at Merrimac
Generating Station
Duties : Using specifications supplied by Northeast Utilities, my responsibilities
included contacting vendors to obtain prices on the Substation Incoming
structure, Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Control and Relay Room and
all related materials for the project. I also estimated the man hours needed
to install the equipment. All estimating was done using an Excel spreadsheet
and job history from a related project. The estimated job cost 3.5 Million
Dollars.
Employer : Westside / Hammer Electric ( Local 743 IBEW) Allentown Pa. March 2000-
June 2006
Project : Business Complex
Objective : Estimate new Professional Building
Duties : Estimate new professional office complex by doing take off on all electrical
systems including Service equipment, conduit and lighting, receptacles and
lighting controls as well as fire and security systems. All estimation was
done by using spreadsheet and job history. I was also responsible in laying
out the construction method to be used. The estimated job cost 600,000
Dollars
Employer : Plateau Electric Raleigh NC Oct 1999-March 2000
Project : New Pier Construction
Objective : Project Manage new pier prototype for US Navy at Virginia Beach Navel
Yard Va.
Duties : Project manage the installation of electrical components of a prototype pier
for the Dept. of the Navy. I was responsible for coordinating the equipment
manufacturing and deliveries which included sled mounted Substations,
fiberglass conduit, all portable cables used in powering ships after docking.
I was responsible for the tracking of monies used in the purchase of said
materials and labor costs. I was responsible for all change order requests.
The estimating of all extra work cost using Accubid software and Primavera
project managing software. I was responsible for coordinating any and all
electrical outages needed in connecting to the existing electrical system on
Base.

Employer : B.J. Baldwin Electric Narvon Pa. August 1986- October 1999
Project : Carmuse LLC (Design Build Project)
Objective : Complete plant Automation installation and Electrical upgrade
Duties : Using drawings and sketches provided by the equipment supplier
I designed all of the electrical requirements needed to install a
complete automated material handling system which included
extraction of raw material from the on site quarry thru separation,
processing and storage of the product to transportation. The project
included the installation of a new 69Kv to 13.2 Kv Substation addition,
complete re-construction of the Overhead electrical system, Numerous
Pad-mounted transformers, Electrical Control rooms, and the Master
Control Room. The project also included a new lime palletizing plant.
I was responsible managing all material buy outs and labor management.
All estimation was done on site using a spreadsheet method . All design
was done using ink & pen and my knowledge of conduit fill and NEC
standards. Total Electrical cost : 5.5 Million Dollars
Project : Perrier Inc.
Objective : New plant addition and process equipment installation
Duties : Using Estimation software and plans supplied by Perrier. I was able to
do all take offs of equipment and labor to win this project. I was also
responsible for the project management for the construction of the
electrical system in the addition which included new switchgear and
controls. The swift installation of the electrical portion of the project
satisfied the client to the extent of their awarding BJ Baldwin with
additional work and to becoming the COC of the corporation in the area.
Total Electrical cost : Approx 1.5 Million Dollars
Project : Allentown Cement
Objective : Coal stacking Conveyor System
Duties : Using Estimation Software and drawings supplied by the client. I was
able to win this project for BJ Baldwin. I was also responsible for the
purchase of materials and all labor management which included the job
lay-out. I was also responsible for the complete cost management. The
management of the plant were very pleased with the timely completion
of the project as well as the professional work done by BJ Baldwin that
Baldwin was awarded COC status. Total Electrical Cost 250,000 Dollars

Project : Craftex Mills
Objective : Installation of air conditioning System
Duties : Acted as GC for entire project which included sub contracting concrete
work, Steel building construction, Equipment installations as well as a
new High Voltage service which included a new pad mount Transformer,
secondary cable installation for a new 1200 Amp service, switch gear and
Motor Control Center, 600 amp Buss duct. My responsibilities included all
equipment and material purchases, Labor and cost management. I was
also responsible with coordinating all outages needed to complete the
electrical up-grade. Total Electrical cost Approx 1.5 Million Dollars
Project : Alcoa Aluminum
Objective : Multiple plant projects
Duties : My responsibilities included close interaction with plant Engineering Dept
which included many design build projects from Transformer replacements,
Press Installations and upgrades, Plant lighting, New equipment services,
and building additions. These projects allowed B.J Baldwin to obtain COC
status and day to day work for many years.
