To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Louis Ahn. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and I graduated from Kennesaw State University on December 14, 2010. I’d been awarded the Dean’s List for three consecutive semesters for maintaining exceptional performance in my academic career, and I was a proud member of the Finance/Economic Club, International business Club, and Student Investment Fund. For community service, I volunteered in conserving natural habitats for the Student Conservation Association, built houses for Habitat for Humanity, and taught English to children at my church. My professional work experience consists of customer service and marketing at Gordon’s Jewelers, internship at NorthWestern Mutual and Moore’s Wealth Management, and an English teacher at a private institution in South Korea.
The primary reason why I pursued a position in South Korea was to immerse myself in a culture I never experienced. I believe my mission to Korea significantly patched the missing pieces of my identity into a more purposeful being, and thus, broadening my perspective on life, which it has. Learning is my passion, along with any factor that supplements my craving for ambition. My mission is to inherit as much knowledge as I can to contribute to society in a selfless way.
It brought me joy in teaching children. I hope that the knowledge they have gained from me will leave an imprint which will benefit our future society. It’s evident that I matured in a leadership standpoint by holding a teaching position. In retrospect, my insatiable intellectual aspirations derive from an impoverished lifestyle I came from. Having a mother who altered clothes, and a father who fixed shoes, I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the sacrifices that they have made for my brother and I. Witnessing their love for us by working multiple jobs during my childhood is a memory I cherish and carry every day; and it is the driving force behind my persistence and motivation in succeeding at any project I undertake.
I would describe myself as a meticulous and passionate individual who would perform his best at any given circumstance, and compensate for any shortcomings I may encounter during the process. I hope by now, I have convinced you enough so that you’ll regard me as a potential candidate for your program, and I look forward in hearing from you soon. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Louis Ahn
