I began projects by attending strategic meetings to plan for materials needed. I wrote job specifications including paper choices, sizes, dates needed, and art requirements. I met with vendors to discuss materials, printing, colors, and quality expectations. I developed layouts, purchased and retouched all high res images, followed up by making necessary layout changes, preflighted job to insure accuracy, released files to vendors by uploading to FTP and followed up with press checks and reviews of color proofs. In addition, I was the key communication interface between our main Chicago office and our offices in Turkey and India.

I was responsible for final production of all layouts and high resolution image retouching. I worked closely with the production manager and art directors to review jobs and do whatever was needed to push them through the routing process. On any given day this might involve creating new layouts, creating print-ready die-lines from scratch, retouching high resolution art, kerning & typographic adjustments, and occasionally manual trimming & mockups. I would eventually prepare all files for final release to print vendors by preflighting and reviewing comps and print proofs and making any necessary adjustments. As quality control, I was responsible for review & approval of all final art.
