Project Manager

Worked over the course of a number of years as a project manager within several Cisco business units. Projects included several

web application deployments, user interface design, support web sites, site improvement/optimization, website content

management, and technical document projects.

Projects highlights include:

Managed release for Cisco Product Standards and Tooling user experience group’s Kubrick

(6.0) standards version 6.3 working with remote and outsourced teams managing risks,

facilitating communication, and enhancing team synergy. Tightened up efficiency while also

providing business analyst support through recommendations on what is needed to reduce

the release schedule. Introduced new processes to support their growing team including

introducing new software to help them work more efficiently with release tasks and

management reporting. Managed micro projects in support of release including developing

group New Hire portal in Confluence using wiki markup, collaborated with external group

customers for survey, gathering and reporting metrics, process improvement, and

developing project communication documents.

Managed project re launching the Office of the Chairman’s internal employee facing website

o Managed converting the Office of the Chairman internal website from the older

javascript implementations into the new ext JS/YUI interface while providing

hands on customization of the Cisco YUI components as needed. Implemented

the Cisco new user interface templates for the website as well.

o Drove to completion the office for Cisco’s Chairman new “John’s Office” flash

website prototype. This included hands on XML and Actionscript 2.0/3.0

development including Flash user interface design. Integrated the desktop using

the YUI framework and customizing as needed to show functionality and usability.

Managed development, production and fulfillment life cycle of 300 page Cisco Product

Quick Reference Guide (QRG) program, a sales and training tool with world wide

distribution, printed bi annually. Reduced print production costs by $150K, switching

CPQRG to a self funded model, sharing the savings with Cisco customers, lowering the

book price by 45%.

Developed an internal support website and a WebSphere Application Portal Administrative

Guide for the system administrators and developers within the Websphere Portal

Application team.
