Histology technician
I perform routine histology, which includes preparing patient slide preparations from tissue and body fluid specimens for diagnostic purposes. I am responsible for daily operation of Histology and Cytology equipment used to process and prepare slides for pathology examination on specimens received from surgery, cytological procedures and specimens received from various physician offices. Maintains accurate and up to date records, processes daily charges and maintains histology department supply inventory. I also assist with send outs. I embed tissue in paraffin and I cut paraffin blocks to perform routine H&E stain. I also prepare slides to for immunohistochemsitry and special stains. I assist in FNA and frozen sections.

I assisted the Social Worker by performing supervised visits with parents and children. Contact foster parents and schedule appointments to check on the children who are placed in the home. Spoke with children and foster parents to determine if children were being adequately taken cared for and typed up reports and notified caseworker of observations. I would also transport children to and from any appointments that may have been made and copy and fax any reports for the social worker. I would transport documents to the courthouse.
