Challenged with turning around inexperienced service delivery of the Fidelity Benefit administration model and optimizing their staff after the initial transition of GM Benefits from third party vendors. Acted as liaison between General Motors international union representatives and Fidelity, providing direction and input in the resolution of pension and retirement benefit issues. Investigated up to 100 cases simultaneously and developed action plans to facilitate solutions. Provided expert counsel to Fidelity field representatives to streamline case resolutions. Collaborated with union officials in the role of Management Representative of the Pension Committee, analyzing, reviewing, and processing salary and hourly pension cases on appeal and developing plan-based dispositions. Provided guidance and education to administrators on the interface of the GM Survivor Income Benefit Insurance between the hourly pension plan and developed procedures to assure the correct information was provided for proper administration to prevent gross overpayments.

 Facilitated union worker’s transition from disability (with exhausted benefits) to retirement status (with full benefits).

 Discovered potential overpayments of pension benefits to employees on Worker’s Compensation, saving potentially millions of dollars and bringing the pension plan into compliance with its provisions.
