Transportation Manager (2007-2008)

Managed Chicago, Illinois and Blytheville, Arkansas transportation operations, for the largest steel tubing producer in North America, with over one million tons shipped domestically and abroad annually. Negotiated rate contracts with carriers (Truck & Rail) that achieved a reduction of 15% over previous rates paid out of Chicago, Illinois, and a 40% reduction over previous rates paid out of Blytheville, Arkansas. Conducted an on-going analysis of alternative methods of transportation that achieved an additional 10% savings. Developed an incentive program for carriers transferring materials between warehouses that achieved a 20% rate reduction, with a 30% increase in the amount of material being transferred to multiple warehouses.
