Worked with corporate staff to create shared services accounting department for $1B consolidated business. Managed all accounting and finance functions involving $300MM annual sales of large project revenue recognition accounting reporting directly to the VP and GM. 1988 – 1991 Controller – ABB Inc., St. Louis, MO. Managed all accounting and finance functions involving $50MM annual sales of a Transformer Plant, reporting directly to the VP. Responsible for all analysis, capital appropriations, budgets, annual forecasts, five-year strategic plan. The plant went from a financial loss of $5MM annual to $1MM profit.
1986 – 1988 BU Manager of Financial Planning– Westinghouse Electric Corp., Pittsburgh, PA. Corporate staff reporting directly to the CFO for $1B consolidation of Business Unit for Power Distribution and Transmission. Responsible for all division reporting and analysis of IRR, DCF, ROI, NPV.
1980 – 1986 Manager of Accounting/Manager of Financial Planning – Westinghouse Electric Corp., Bloomington, IN. Manage all aspects of the accounting and finance department and later promoted to financial planning for a component manufacturing business with five product lines. Developed of a five year strategic analysis called “VABASTRAM” which stood for Value Based Strategic Management.
