Plant Manager: Crystal Springs ( 2008 – 2012)

Lead a team of managers, supervisors and production associates in the daily bottling and facility operations of a 150K sq. ft. plant facility. Utilized exceptional management and technical proficiencies to analyze daily operations and institute long-range initiatives. Created and implemented short and long range strategies and procedures to maximize effective use of talent and resources. Full P&L responsibilities for the plant. Worked closely with engineering and vendors in all phases of various capital projects. Proactively handled additional duties including the inventory process, preventive maintenance program, and directly controlled product and equipment inventory levels at all branch locations.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Streamlined the plant into 3 distinct operating units based on product type using Kaizen principles. This eliminated confusion, miss-communication, and

down time which resulted in lower operating costs, reduced inventories and increased employee ownership and satisfaction.

• Significantly reduced operating costs while obtaining forecasted volume output year over year

• Through training and efficiency improvements reduced bottling hours on 2 production lines from a 2 shift to a 1 shift operation; positively impacting variable and fixed costs.

• Attained SQF Level III certification to guarantee continued sales growth.

• Promoted 2 production supervisors from within the plant. This was the first time hourly associates were promoted to salary positions from within the plant.

• Rewrote the Preventive Maintenance Program for production equipment and facility maintenance, improving efficiencies and reducing maintenance costs.

• Implemented inventory strategies to reduce scrap on primary bottling line by 50%.

• Point person in the pant for all competitor acquisitions that were integrated into our facility.

Distribution Manager: Crystal Springs ( 2005- 2008 )

Managed the day to day warehouse and distribution activities in the plant. Oversaw the plant inventory process. Assigned tasks to assure product was shipped and raw materials received in a timely fashion.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Reduced miss shipments by revising warehouse layout.

• Implemented daily finished product inventory process to assure first in first out.

• Streamlined route truck loading process to an assembly line layout to reduce errors and overtime.

Relocated from Grand Prairie, Texas - DS Waters location to Mableton, GA – DS Waters location.

Production Manager: Sparkletts ( 1997 – 2005 )

Originally managed the 5 gallon bottling plant operations as production supervisor, in 2000 promoted to production manager with responsibilities for both the HOD and PET bottling plants in Texas.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Wrote the facility HACCP plans for 3 Texas bottling locations.

• Heavily involved in the ISO 9001 and 14001 process as they relate to bottled water for all Texas Sparletts locations.

• Project Manager on 2M dollars bottling line installation.

• Implemented 5S.

• Project Manager on 2.0M dollar bottling line installation.

Production Supervisor: Reynolds & Reynolds ( 1984 – 1997

Originally hired as a collator operator in 1984, was promoted to production supervisor in 1986. Responsibilities include managing the pressroom, bindery and shipping departments across all 3 shift operations.

Selected Accomplishments:

• Project manager on 950K collator purchase.

• Managed the start-up and day to day operations of the short run continuous printing department. This was the original start-up of this type of department within the organization.

Career Note: I am very comfortable with the Oracle operating system I am proficient with MS Word and Excel. I have extensive training with SPC tools. I was also a maintenance mechanic for The Johnson & Johnson CO.

Education

6 years of college course completion at Morehead State University, Arlington Baptist College and Northwood University with study in education and business. No degree.

Certifications

Certified SQF Practitioner.

Certified Plant Operator through the International Bottled Water Association.

While I was in Texas I maintained the Certified Plant Operator status through Texas Department of Health.
