o Crathern Project - Initiated by the Bindery IWT, this project was for the purchase of a Crathern wrapper/laminator to be used in the Bindery. The savings for this project was $240,145.
o Brown Paper Presentations - Participated in several presentations of Samples' "As Is" process versus its "To Be" process to upper management.
o Salesman Board Savings - Identified the savings associated with sending one plain salesman deck board per carpet style instead of one for each selling brand. The savings of $166,000 helped justify the introduction of these boards.
o Standardizing Deck Boards - Determined the number of SKU's the Sample Department offers, and the percentage of each that is sold. This information was used to help justify the standardization of deck boards in Samples, which produced a savings of $559,600.
Manufacturing Management Trainee
• Assigned temporarily to Sample Department (6/93-8/93). Worked with an Associate I.E. on the Scheduling Project. This project consisted of identifying the problems in the current scheduling process and making recommendations for the new scheduling software for Samples. The project had a savings of $1,396,380 and was used as a basis for the new software.
• Participated in the Manufacturing Management Training Program at Shaw (3/93-6/93).
