Performed system maintenance on DEC 11/55 and DEC 11/70 systems with RK05J and RL02 disk drives used for research. Performed maintenance on Hewlett Packard 1000 systems and peripherals which included HP7906 and HP7912 disk drives, Winchester hard disk drives and Shugart floppy drives used in VT 180 personal computers and Decmate word processing systems. Repaired line printers to include Digital LPQ02, LA-120, and LA-34 and LA-36 printers. Completed NASA soldering school, IBM Personal Computer trouble shooting course, and small systems course. Assisted board repair in troubleshooting DEC and HP power supplies and printed circuit boards to component level using bench test equipment including the Octopus. Became familiar with DEC and HP diagnostics in the isolation of system malfunctions to board level on site and then to component level on the bench at Wyle.

Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of DEC PDP/11 and LSI/11 systems with CDC 300 megabyte disk drives for mass storage. Maintained and modified to component level Marquette designed computer systems for electrocardiography using the Motorola 6800 microprocessor which used Digital TU-58 tape drives for storage. Serviced Digital microcomputers on line to the Naval Regional Medical Center’s 11/34 mainframe via Vadic modems to LA-120 line printers and DEC VT 100 video terminals. Used the telephone to troubleshoot with the customer to resolve problems. Installed field change orders and systems upgrades as requested by Milwaukee field support.

Apr. 1981- Schlumberger Fairchild Weston Systems, Sarasota, FL

Dec. 1979 Position: Customer Service Engineer

Operated and maintained mobile data acquisition systems for military tank (HSTVL) engineering tests at Aberdeen Proving Grounds with DEC 11/34 systems using DEC disk drives, Sangamo Weston and Western Peripherals tape drives collecting data using pulse code modulation systems by EMR and F.M. telemetry. Also operated similar systems on site at Boone, NC on windmill systems for the Department of Energy and completed installation and operation of the mainframe data reduction and analysis system at NASA, Plumbrook Station, in Sandusky, OH.
