Duties: Responsible for the efficient operation of the Columbus Regional Data Center on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis. Supervise the training and guidance of Data Center personnel. Assist staff in analysis and problem solving. Monitor networks and assist in trouble-shooting network problems. Develop and implement new procedures for maintaining efficiency of Data Center. Create the annual budget for the Data Center, along with keeping a complete inventory of the Data Center. Responsible for maintaining daily and monthly metrics. Utilize Remedy for all problem tracking as well as the repository for the Configuration Management Database. Ensure successful completion of all backups. This is a mid-range environment utilizing EMC equipment, Dell equipment, IBM equipment and Cisco equipment. Software includes Meditech Magic, AIX UNIX, DG/UX, NT 4.0 and Windows 2003. We have converted to a SANS environment utilizing EMC DMX2000’s, Connectrix, ConTech cabling and a StorageTek Powderhorn for media storage.
