Hillview Acres Children’s Home Chino, CA
Intern
Interacted with populations of children ages 5-19 whom have been victims of neglect or abuse at home and were now placed in group homes. I was assigned to the home of teenage mothers with their children. There, I became responsible for the daily completion of computerized behavior codes and creating behavior goals for each of the residents in my group home. I also organized patient files with appropriate legal documents in corresponding sections. Eventually, I was trained to conduct group therapy which included topics relevant to the mothers and their children.

Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice West Covina, CA
Care Provider/Friendly Visitor
Received 25 hours of interactive Hospice Volunteer training which included ethics, policies, and responsibilities. Visited and assisted patients in retirement homes who had at most 6 months to live and were enrolled in hospice care. I was to document each visit with detailed descriptions of happenings. I also interacted with their family members with the process of bereavement after the patient passed away. I was able to assist 4 different deceased patients and their families.

Data input of patient’s results into computer, hang x-rays for doctor analysis, file all x-rays in designated patient’s files, complete rounds for radiology needs in hospital departments. I gained my first and extensive experience on file handling and organizing. My volunteer experience was completely confidential and I was only to report with the doctor who was in charge of the patients.
