Precision Drilling Company - Network Analyst
Houston, Texas May 2005 – March 2010
• Upon being hired I performed an assessment of existing network, server and monitoring systems. Provided findings and recommendations to the IT Director. Those recommendations included redesigning the data center using current technology at the time consisting of APC Racks, Symmetra LX UPS, Cisco 3750 Switches, PIX 515 Firewall(replaced existing Check Point Firewall), Raritan Dominion KX32, and the latest generation HP Proliant DL 360/380 Servers. Installed and configured APC NetBotz for monitoring access and the environment for the data center.
• Migrated existing domain controllers from outdated hardware to current HP Proliant DL 360 hardware
• Managed multi-site network consisting of Frame Relay circuits running on Cisco Routers. Worked with AT&T on obtaining quotes and installation of MPLS circuits to replace the existing Frame Relay connections.
• Maintained both internal and external DNS. External DNS entries included HTTP/HTTPS and MX Record.

Installed and configured Double Take software and used DTAM to configure replication and failover for Exchange, File/Print and SQL 2005.
• Managed 500 user Windows Server 2003 Active Directory/Exchange 2003 environmental with duties including user account setups/deletions, group access, NTFS permissions, mailbox creation, managed mailbox rights, performed mailbox restores (messages, contacts, entire mailboxes) using Ontrack PowerControls and OPC Extract Wizard. Configured and managed Exchange 2003 recipient policies, GAL, Public Folders (managed access rights to public folders).
• Provided Blackberry support for users consisting of Blackberry Enterprise Server and a wide variety of Blackberry devices from AT&T and Verizon. Installed and configured and troubleshot problems with Desktop Manager. Responsible for activating Blackberry devices and services with the appropriate providers. • Installed and configured Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 in a 2-server farm. Installed required applications to be published to the user community. Setup and managed access to those applications using domain groups. Provided installation support for the ICA Client. Installed and configured Citrix Web Access and made the appropriate changes to the firewall. Troubleshot any problems that came up with users accessing the published applications either with the ICA Client or the Citrix Web Client.
• Managed 2-EMC CX3-10 iSCSI SANs (SATAII and FC Disk Arrays), Production and DR. Configured management IP address for the SPs, configured LUNs, RAID Groups and Storage Groups, installed and configured EMC connectivity components iSCSI Initiator, PowerPath, Solutions Enabler, Navisphere Host Utilities – Navisphere Agent, Snap View, Navisphere CLI, and Navisphere Server Utility) on hosts to connect them to the CX3-10. Installed and configured EMC EmailXtender for Exchange 2003 and EMC DiskXtender to test archiving for Exchange and Files.
• Designed, installed and configured a backup strategy(Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly) for File, Exchange 2003, SQL 2000/2006 Databases using HP DL 380 and HP Ultrium LTO4 Tape Autoloader hardware and Symantec Backup Exec 11d and Continuous Projection Server for easy file retrieval (CPS allowed retrieval of files from different dates). Managed Iron Mountain Account and tape rotation for offsite storage.
• Managed AS400 for the Accounting Department – installed and configured the AS400 Client on Windows XP Pro workstations, maintained user profiles on both the OS and Accounting System (Avatar), maintained user menu security within the Avatar Accounting System, installed and configured Spool-It on users workstations to allow them to pull customized reports.

Project for Tribal Casino and Resort and their Ski Resort
• Involved in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure overhauls. The overhauls included implementing a fiber backbone of Single Mode (SM) and Multi Mode (MM) fiber runs, depending on the distance, between buildings at the Ski Resort and at IMG facilities.
• The network backbone was completely built with Cisco equipment consisting of Cisco 6500, Cisco 3500 PWR Series Switches, Aironet 1200 Series, 2600 Series routers, PIX 515 & 501. I assisted in the installation, configuration and management of all the Cisco equipment based on the design from an outside consulting firm..
• Assisted optimization and reassigned existing server roles as needed and purchased approximately 30+ new Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant servers at two locations.
• Upgraded existing 2000 Active Directory to 2003 and as well as their Exchange 2000 Server to Exchange 2003.
• Implemented Symantec Ghost Enterprise desktop imaging solution.
• Migrated all the servers from the old casino’s server room to the new data center. All servers are running Windows 2003 Server with the exception of some legacy server apps that were only supported on Windows 2000 Server.
