Senior Information Technology Specialist

• Managed a United States based, Airline Ticket Tracking and Reconciliation System that track and reconciled 8,000 airline tickets per month. This COBOL/DB2/POWERBUILDER application disseminated $3,000,000 per month in corporate expense charges to appropriate corporate units.

• Developed a Multi-File COBOL/DB2 Audit System. This application retrieved and validated five weekly external files and one monthly external file. The implementation of this procedure resulted in $75,000 per year of savings by enhancing the throughput of time sensitive information.

• Implemented a mainframe Automated External File JCL/IDCAMS Retrieval Procedure. This procedure allowed the mainframe to self recycle job execution. This resulted in a $25,000 per year savings by eliminating non-timely running of date sensitive applications.

• Created Hierarchical Analysis SAS/DB2 Procedure based on program logical not physical structural ties. The procedure established product groups for the multi-dimensional reporting system. This resulted in a $100,000 annual saving by eliminating restructuring.

• Implemented a COBOL/IMS Stock Option Reporting and Allocation System. The system kept track of all stock options granted and exercised. The results were a $50,000 per year savings by having information reported timely and accurately.

• Developed and Implemented a SAS/DB2 United States based Trade Partner System. The system retrieved information from 60 select distributors, throughout the United States, for 50 key products. The implementation of this system created an additional $200,000 per month in sales.

• Created and Implemented an Employee Salary Information System. The COBOL/IMS system tracked and reported IT employee salary, salary history, and future increases. This system saved $150,000 per year by having current information available and the ability to analyze ‘what if’ salary scenarios.

• Designed and Implemented an Affirmative Action COBOL/IMS System. The system tracked the personnel demographic within the company and subsets of the company. This system resulted in a $25,000 per year savings and a potential multi-million dollar savings if compliance was not met.

• Developed and Implemented a SAS/IMS Federal and Multi-State Tax Reporting System. This system provided detailed and summary tax information. As a result of this system a $300,000 per year savings was realized by eliminating erroneous and non-timely tax reporting.

• Designed and Implemented a Medical/Dental Payment System. Being self-insured this COBOL/IMS system created detailed and summary employee plan payments to a sub-providers. The results were a $50,000 per year savings because the timely and accurately reporting of information.

• Implemented a COBOL/IMS Savings Plan System to increase savings options, automatic mailings, and file structure. The implementation and enhancements resulted in $250,000 per year savings through automating and enhancing the application.

As a Diverse and Experienced Senior Information Technology Specialist, I was responsible for managing and leading teams of between one and six individuals.
