Systems Analyst for Boeing Support of the Ground Based Missile Defense (GMD) Program, Interceptor Product Team (IPT). Includes activities supporting the third-level Manager for the Interceptor System Engineering, Integration and Test organization such as preparing presentations; reviewing Engineering Change Packages (ECPs) to ascertain impact on various projects; and developing and documenting the process for ECP data capture, including the preparation of internal and external requirements documentation.

Technical Writer for Boeing GMD. This task includes preparing preliminary software test documents including Version Description Documents (VDDs) and Operating Procedures for use in Boeing's Ground-based Interceptor (GBI) System Test Laboratory, creating review drafts, incorporating changes, typing and formatting information provided by the test engineer into appropriate tables, charts and narratives, formatting documents in compliance with configuration management specifications, entering documents into electronic document management systems and managing the document files. Assist with preparation of change forms and related paperwork required by various Configuration Change Board activities.

Management of departmental Detail Instructions (DIs) library, comprised of the following functions: preparing new and updating existing DIs, reformatting documents, verifying references, preparing flow charts, editing, typing, file maintenance, tracking, and final document release. Maintaining the library includes researching DIs for cancellation, cleaning up online library, identifying documents in electronic document control system, making corrections to non-standard records, locating old files. Reviewing the library for obsolete instructions, and identifying DIs appropriate for updating. Determine appropriate points of contact and authors to review and update the documents. Familiarity with other policies and procedures to ensure DI content is current and compliant.

Sr. Technical Writer assigned to the Joint Analysis Display Environment (JADE) project (AMCOM Express) at the Software Engineering Directorate (SED) at Redstone Arsenal. Involved as Software Test Engineer for the Integrated System Test Capability (ISTC) Payload Launch Vehicle Ground Support Equipment software test group at Lockheed Martin. Duties included monitoring simulated flight tests at the Advanced Research Center (ARC) Facility in Huntsville, Alabama. In addition to testing support, responsible for developing and updating all related operational procedures, instructions and user documentation.

As Sr. Technical Writer, responsible for configuration management and quality assurance activities in support of the PATRIOT Advanced Capability 3 (PAC3) Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E), and the simulation models representing the JTAGS, THAAD and PATRIOT systems. Supported the Extended Air Defense Testbed (EADTB) system under the auspices of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Specific duties as included the maintenance and support of documentation for the EADTB, including the development, maintenance and publication of four sizeable volumes of system and user documentation. Similarly supported the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) and the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS), preparing system documentation, including the development and publication of several cycles of requirements, and performed classified document control for the program.

Accomplishments:

Software testing and development of a user's manual for the Flight Path Test Analysis Simulation application, designed to assist the military planner in determining probable locations for missile threats. The 1995 William A. Davis Technical Excellence Award awarded to project participants.

Telecommunications Engineering Support August 1982 to April 1994

Kentron International, BAMSI and CSC

Involved in telecommunications engineering support for NASA Information Systems Office at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Provided technical writing and served as an associate telecommunications engineer documenting various NASA-wide telecommunications systems, and local data systems. Managed a technical publications group responsible for researching, updating and publishing, on a semi-annual basis, ten separate telecommunications system user guides/directories and a variety of engineering reports.
