Objective: To obtain a basketball coaching position to aid and teach the athletes the importance of fundamentals and teamwork as well as education.
I played basketball locally at Andrew Jackson. I was the starting center for my tenure there. I was titled best defensive player as well as most improved player. I was also a McDonald's All-American Nominee in 1993. I also help lead the team to a State Championship Class 2A in 1993.
I attended Florida State University where I solely focused on academics, but I did coach parks and recreation basketball for four seasons. The first two seasons I did not do a great job, but each year thereafter we did well the third year the team came in first place in there age bracket. The following year they placed second for there age bracket. For one season I was the assistant basketball coach for the freshman basketball team at Florida High in Tallahassee, Florida.
I participated in three campus wide 3-on-3 basketball tournaments where the team I played with took first place two years in a row and the third year we placed second. I also played intramural basketball at Florida State and once again won the entire event two consecutive years, with over 100 plus participaing teams.
Even though I did not play college ball on a scholarship I was given the opportunity to go oversees. My experience there was not a long one but it was a full filling challenge in which I overcame a lot of obstacles.
I am a fundamental and defensive minded coach. I believe that offense comes from defense. Furthermore, education and discipline are truly important to excel in athletics.
