Poonam Dahiya has a post graduate degree (M. Tech.) in Applied Geophysics from Kurukshetra University and substantial experience in Seismic Data processing.

Basic (PSTM) & Special Processing of seismic data (2D & 3D) in application to oil exploration.

Work Profile/Employment History

Working as a Geophysicist (Seismic Data Processing) in Pan India Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (Sep’2006 – till to date).

Processing of seismic data from Geometry merging, editing, Operator designing, Noise & Multiple attenuation, Deconvolution, Velocity analysis, Residual statics computation, DMO/ PSTM gather/ Migrated stack generation to post stack process application such as DAS, RNA, TV Filtering & Equalization.

Variety of Deconvolution: Spiking/ Predictive/ -р deconvoluion, Signature deconvolution in offshore regime provided source signatures are given & Surface Consistent deconvolution in an onshore scenario have been used.

Noise/ Multiple attenuation have been carried out in t-x / f-k & -р domain.

Kirchoff migration algorithm is used for PSTM & DMO gather generation. Finite difference methods are applied for post stack migration.

First break statics computation requires picking the first breaks from LMO corrected data. Computing statics seeks for refining the near surface model parameters by decomposition & least square inversion of the observed (picked) refracted arrivals.

Test parameter finalization in consultation with client. QC of results through scrutinizing base maps, fold maps, Isovelocity maps, Brute/ Decon/ Residual/ PSTM stacks and data delivery to client to his satisfaction and requirements.

Projects

In hand project to be worked on: Production Sharing Contract for block CB-ONN-2010/5 of NELP-IX.

2D Land Seismic data processing of Raniganj CBM Block RG(East)-CBM2001/1 for Essar oil Ltd.

Basic processing of 2D seismic data of Nigeria.

Processing of Indrora-3D & Bakrol-2D western onshore Seismic data with client as Selan Exploration Technology, India.

Processing of Andaman 2D Lines with client as DGH, India.

Processing of seismic 2D data of Cambay Basin for clients: GSPC, Oil Max (Mercator).

Processing of Western onshore seismic data :RJ-ONN-2005/3 Block with client as GSPC & CB-ONN-2005/1, CB-ONN-2005/3, CB-ONN-2005/9 Blocks with client as Oil Max (Mercator).

Processing of 2D-Seismic data: Indian basins; broadly; Western Offshore (Kutchh, Bombay) / Eastern Offshore (KG Basin) and Western Onshore (Cambay Basin). It required rigorous processing of various data regimes via computing geometry, noise/ multiple attenuation through to deconvolution, residual statics and PSTM application.

Also responsible for Qcing Seismic Data Reconstruction projects using Seistrack software.
