Career Goal: Medical Science Liaison
Clinical Care / Evidence-Based Outcomes / Biostatistics / Training / Compliance / Consulting Safety / Managed Care / Medical Quality Improvement / Medical Standards and Procedures
Over twenty five years of clinical/surgical experience applies itself to understanding the nuances of why certain medicines and medical products work and how this needs to be communicated. Recent academic experience at the Muskie School of Public Policy has necessitated the ability to interact and present to significant members of the healthcare/policy arena. This combined with a strong medical/clinical background, pursuit of evidence based outcomes, NIH courses, involvement in research, lecturing medical students, and helping develop a large multi-discipline group practice makes for a strong candidate for the Medical Science Liaison position.
• Strong command of basic science and clinical use of new therapies
• Analyze, interpret and explain clinical data and scenarios
• Understand products, patient treatment trends, clinical trials and scientific activities
• Continuously update knowledge based on training direction and evidence based resources
• Translate scientific or clinical data into high quality medical information
Advances in medicine have been astounding. Pharmaceutical compounds and medical products have entered into a new and fascinating dimension. Having served in various capacities in the medical field as a department chief, member of various quality improvement committees, and run a solo practice has prepared me well to transition from a fulfilling clinical medical career into the pharmaceutical industry where I can contribute and have an impact on the healthcare, business, and patient communities.
