Environmental Technologist
Perform calculations & prepare worksheets, statistics, graphs and related data for routine
sewage treatment plant operations at test facility
Maintain, operate and calibrate laboratory apparatus; formulate sample standards and chemical
reagents for routine tests
Perform routine & non-routine WWTP Process Laboratory tests and analyze unusual samples
Operate and maintain Pierway Environmental research facility under the direct supervision of
UBC Civil Engineering Department
Perform and assess physical, chemical and bacteriological analysis on influent, effluent,
digester sludge, gas samples and communicate results & observations to UBC personnel
Perform laboratory analysis including pH, TSS, VSS, Phosphorus, Ammonia, Nitrate, Alkalinity,
BOD and COD tests
Prepare, review and submit weekly & monthly operation reports to UBC staff
Determine the efficiency of Pierway Environmental proprietary process to treat waste activated
sludge (WAS)
Coordinate with internal/external technical & administrative contacts, inspection team and WWTP
operating staff to exchange information on specific samples, tests or test results.
Operate and monitor control systems and related equipment in wastewater treatment facility, to
regulate the flow of sewage through settling, aeration and digestion tanks, and to treat sewage
as per norms
Submit weekly and monthly substrate samples to external laboratories
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with municipal crews and other
employees, contractors, consultants, other government agencies

Perform API standards testing on drilling and completion fluids at the Rig Site
Monitor fluid parameters and report deviations from Drilling Program
Recommend corrective action and on site problem solving solutions to client
Use proprietary software for reporting test results to Operations Group and Rig Foreman
Maintain accurate mud inventories and manage materials logistics on site
Assist in managing drilling lease environmental concerns, contaminated site management and
pollution prevention
Provide environmental expertise, advice, recommendations and information to site manager,
project manager and general public
Provide expertise and offer optimum solutions at the well site in coordination with the
operations and technical services group of M-I SWACO
